Staff and Training
Our staff has general education and a lot of experience in senior care. We have ongoing training on various subjects, including dementia care, falls, etc. We have pull cords in every room and the residents wear pendants. Everyone has training in emergency protocol.Services and Amenities
We do offer transportation services. Our dining services include three meals a day plus 24-hour mostly healthy snacks. Breakfast is from 7:30 to 9 AM and consists of eggs, bacon, sausage, sometimes gravy, oatmeal, sometimes pancakes or donuts or pastry, hashbrowns, etc. Lunch is the big meal of the day and is at noon. It consists of several entrée choices, four vegetable choices, a salad choice, a heart-healthy meal choice, and dessert. Supper is at five and features choices of soup and salad, sandwich, etc., as a lighter meal.Complaints and Grievance Process
Residents can go to the Executive Director with any complaints, followed by a grievance process if the issue is not solved satisfactorily.Communication and Visitors
There is much communication with families, and most residents have many visitors, friends, and family each week.Respite and Pet Policy
We do offer respite care. The rate depends on the length of stay, usually based on a per diem charge, but sometimes monthly. Yes, we allow pets, specifically small, well-behaved dogs and cats.Availability and Health Services
Our Garden Homes have a waitlist, but not assisted living. Wheeler’s Pharmacy will be visiting on Monday to provide flu shots and then Covid vaccines. They will not administer two vaccines in one day unless a resident’s physician approves it.Community Overview
Our community is small, with currently fifty residents in the Assisted Living building and ten in Memory Care. This allows for interaction of staff with all residents, so we know them and see them multiple times a day. We notice if something is wrong or different and communicate that to the family if warranted. When we have a new resident, all staff goes out of their way to make them feel welcome and acclimated. The residents also take time to get to know them and make them feel at home.Aging in Place
Aging in place would depend on the situation. We had a gentleman die last week with Hospice, which allowed him to stay here with their help. We are an AL-C, which means by state regulations we are a social model assisted living as opposed to an AL-BH—Basic Health or what used to be called (and still is—we are in transition) Personal Care. We provide some levels of care, such as help with showering and dressing, medication reminders, and escorts to the dining room but we do not have anyone clinical on our staff. At some point in the future, we will have a KMA in memory care but not assisted living. We do not handle lifts of any type or assist with toileting, except in memory care. Sometimes, if someone comes home from rehab, they can go to the memory care wing for a little extra care for a week or so.Housing Availability
Our Garden Homes have a waitlist but the Assisted Living apartments do not.For pricing & availability call (866) 204-9238
