THE COOPERATIVE MODEL

Laurelmead’s cooperative model is different from most senior living communities. That’s because, as a shareholder, you become an owner in the cooperative. Unlike renting, ownership allows you to customize your apartment while enjoying the common areas, outdoor spaces, and facilities that are maintained by the cooperative. Your home is your sanctuary to enjoy.

GOVERNANCE

Imagine living in a community that is governed by its residents. The cooperative model also encourages residents to become actively engaged in the decision making and planning process. The Board of Directors and the Resident Committees, that advise the Board and support management, are all made up of residents. That’s how Laurelmead works to provide entertainment, excursions, dining experiences, transportation to appointments, maintenance and housekeeping services, and fitness opportunities. Our exceptional, dedicated employees make all these services and amenities possible.

INDEPENDENT LIVING

Laurelmead is a lifestyle option for adults that are 55+ and functionally and socially independent. We do not provide any medical or nursing care, personal care or assistance, medication management, diagnostic services, support for memory loss, or tiered levels of care. We do provide support to residents throughout the aging process. As life changes, we help residents, and their families develop a plan to assure that the resident is in an environment that provides the appropriate care according to their level of need.
