Community Details

Community Details

This detailed information was received through an email from the Community Clinical Liaison at Kruse Village Senior Living Community via email on 2024-03-04.

Do you guys currently have a waitlist?

Depends on which area of Kruse Village you are most interested in. We do have waiting lists for specific floor plans of our Independent Living cottages. Otherwise, at the moment, I do have available Independent Living and Assisted Living apartments as well as Memory Care suites.

Could you share pricing and any other general information?

If you can let me know which area (Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing) I would love to send you specific pricing and information sheets.

Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?

Once again this is somewhat dependent upon which area of the campus you are discussing. In the nursing category, we have Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants and Medication Assistants. In our Assisted Living, our staff is specifically trained as care attendants for that area. We do have a PA and a couple of MDs that will round on their patients in the skilled nursing facility as well as pharmacy, dietary, and mental health professionals that we contract with for those services.

Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?

Our staff is trained in their specific section of our campus to provide the safest place for their residents. We offer activities, counseling, religious services, etc., to meet all well-being needs of residents across the campus.

Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?

Depending upon what section of the campus a new resident moves in, we have various assistant programs for new residents. In our Independent Living, we have several current residents that like to "take new residents under their wing" and help them get to know the "lay of the land". Sometimes transitions are a little more difficult in areas like the memory care, and for this, we may need to use our behavioral health providers to assist with these acclimation periods.

Do you offer transportation services for residents?

We do offer transportation to local medical appointments as well as weekly planned activity outings like shopping and out to eat.

Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?

Our main kitchen prepares the meals for the campus. Each area has their specific dining room in which their meals are served. There are two options for lunch and supper daily, and residents can also ask for a sandwich or salad if they do not care for what is on the menu for a specific meal.

What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?

Depending upon what area of the campus the resident resides in, there is a grievance process. In our Skilled nursing, they would talk with our social worker, in Assisted Living they would communicate with the Wellness Nurse, and in our Independent Living, they would discuss any issues with our Executive Director.

What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?

Once again this depends on what area the resident is in and the cognitive ability of the resident. Families are welcome to visit as much as they would like and can always discuss the residents' care with the staff attending to them. If it is a resident that is unable to communicate with the family, then the nurses or care attendants will coordinate care with the family as the family requests. Every family is different, so we are here to provide whatever personalized care each resident and their family request all while respecting the resident as an individual and their privacy.

Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?

Yes, we do offer short-term respite in our Memory Care and in our Skilled Nursing portions of our campus. The cost is $250 per day, and both settings require a doctor's order to admit for respite care.

Are you all a pet-friendly community?

Our Independent Living residents are allowed to have pets. In the other portions of our community, we love to have pets come to visit, but they are not allowed to reside as in these areas the residents usually need more assistance, and our staff is there for the resident and not able to also care for animals.

Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?

Yes, we do periodically have vaccine clinics where we will offer these vaccines, or we can assist with setting up an appointment with the residents' PCP or even pharmacy to give the vaccine.

Are residents able to age in place?

We offer all levels of care so residents do remain in the same Kruse family but they may not remain in the same specific unit depending on the level of care they need (ex: our IL, AL, and SNF are in 3 separate buildings) but some residents do choose to get caregivers in their Independent cottages or apartments instead of transitioning to skilled nursing so once again each resident is different and unique.
