Overview of Staff and Training

The care partners and life services coordinators undergo training with our team. These care partners and life services coordinators do not have to be CNAs but many are. Our team meets with their nurse supervisor to have delegated tasks. Care partners and life services coordinators complete a med management course in order to pass medications. At Maggie’s, the team members do go through very specific dementia training with our Maggie’s Place nurse using Teepa Snow’s trainings.

Safety and Well-being Measures

We have emergency procedures in place for fire, tornado, evacuation, etc. Tenants in assisted living have pendants to use if they need any assistance. Staff regularly check on residents. In our memory care, the doors are secured as well as the outdoor patio. There are alarms on the door if a code has not been used to enter or exit through doors to the outside. If you have any specific questions regarding this, please let me know so I can provide more specific information.

Transition Support Services

We will help assist residents to get to know other residents. Our team will help provide reminders of activities and provide introductions. In our assisted living, we do have a few residents that take on an ambassador role so they can be a first friend to those that have moved in. Our team will meet with a resident to get to know them better so we can start to build a rapport.

Transportation Services

We provide transportation services to and from medical appointments within a 15 mile radius for those in our assisted living. We do not provide transportation for those in our memory care.

Dining Experience

All three meals are included in the monthly rent for assisted living and assisted living memory care. For assisted living, there are two meal options at lunch and dinner so someone is able to choose something they like. Soup and salad bar are available for lunch as well. If someone does not like the two options, they are able to order from our alternative menu. Residents take a seat at a table, staff come to them to take their order, staff get the plated meal and deliver to the resident.

At our assisted living memory care, all three meals are included in the monthly rent. Only one meal option is provided here and there is an alternative menu as well. Residents take a seat at the table and staff deliver them their plated dinner.

Resident Complaints and Issues

Residents are encouraged to inform a care partner, director or concierge when they have a concern or issue. We encourage residents to provide us this information when it occurs so we can address it right away. We have monthly tenant meetings where any concerns, issues, or compliments can be addressed.

Communication with Residents' Families

After someone moves in, the nurse would complete assessments in assisted living or memory care after 30 days then 60-90 days after that unless there is a change in condition. Commonly our nurse directors are in frequent contact with families especially if there are medication changes, doctor appointments, concerns, etc. This communication can be done via email, phone call, or in person.

Short-term or Respite Stays

We do not offer short-term or respite stays.

Pet-Friendly Community

Pets are certainly able to visit as long as they are on a leash and friendly. Pets are able to reside at Kennybrook Village in our independent living and assisted living. There are guidelines for having a pet which I have attached.

Waitlist Information

In assisted living and memory care, we do have a waitlist.

Covid and Flu Vaccinations

Yes, we are commonly able to work with our pharmacy, Right Dose, to administer these.

Aging in Place

Residents are able to age within the community should they qualify for another level of living. Anyone in our community that needs a different level of care than they are currently in do get first priority to the next level of care. If a resident is in assisted living but needs long-term care, then that resident does need to move. Same goes if a resident is in assisted living but needs memory care, that resident would need to move. At this time, we have waitlists for independent living, assisted living and our assisted living memory care. We do not have a waitlist for our short-term rehab and long-term care.
