Schedule of Fees

Effective January 1, 2024

• The Away Credit is $212 per month per person.
• Monthly Fees are expressed in 2024 terms. Monthly Fees are normally adjusted each year. The above represents the fees effective January 1 to December 31, 2024.
• The Monthly Fee for a resident permanently residing in the Health Center is the same as the Monthly Fee for the apartment most recently occupied by that individual, exclusive of any adjustments for all three meals.
• Because entry and monthly fees cover a resident’s health care costs, a portion of each resident’s entry fee and monthly fee may be considered a medical expense for federal income tax purposes under Revenue Ruling 76-481. The portion varies from year to year. Residents are encouraged to consult their own advisors for further information since a number of variable factors affect each resident’s individual financial circumstances.
• KaH elected to delicense our Medicare Skilled Beds as of December 1, 2020, and we are no longer considered a provider licensed through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). While we provide a comparable level of care for Skilled Nursing-type services in our Health Center, we are unable to bill Medicare for them.
• Refunds - Refer to Residence and Care Agreement regarding refund policy.
• * A & B Studio single-occupant apartments are reserved for residents who do not qualify for a larger accommodation. (For Wait List dates after the policy date of June 22, 2010)
• ** Double occupancy of a C 1 Bedroom apartment is reserved for residents who do not qualify for a larger accommodation. (For Wait List dates after the policy date of June 22, 2010)

• Because Entry Fees and Monthly Fees cover a resident’s health care costs in the Health Center, a portion of each fee may be considered a medical expense for federal income tax purposes under Revenue Ruling 76-481. The portion varies from year to year. Residents are encouraged to consult their own advisors for further information since several variable factors affect each resident’s individual financial circumstances.
