Staff Training and Health Care Services
All my staff goes through extensive dementia training. They must because this is a fragile population. They do ongoing training throughout the year and do initial training when they are hired. We have a director of wellness (RN) and 2 floor nurses. Our care staff are CNA’s and caregivers. We also have QMAPS that administer medications. We also work with the Alzheimer’s association for training and a dementia support group.
Our staff ratio is 6.5 to 1 and we have an extensive connections program (Activities) that residents are participating in. At night we do 15–30-minute checks on residents to ensure their safety. All of our leadership team is very involved with residents as well.
Transition and Transportation
Everyone’s transition into the community is different. We would meet with you and your loved one to make recommendations and get a transition plan in place.
We do offer transportation within a 15-mile radius.
Dining Experience
Our chef has been with us for 19 years. Food is very important because in some cases it can be the last source of joy. We have an anytime menu and a daily menu. We also offer snacks throughout the day. We have 4 “neighborhoods” in the building with 13 studios on each. All the residents that live on a particular neighborhood eat together. It’s a very homey feel.
Addressing Issues and Communication
If a resident has an issue, we try and address that right away. If a family member has a complaint or issue that is resolved with our executive director or Director of Wellness depending on whether it’s medical or non-medical.
Communication is key. We can update you via email, care conference, or phone calls. Nursing will reach out if there are any medication changes.
Respite Stays and Accommodations
We do offer respite stays. I am willing to do 2 weeks but prefer a 30 day stay. The rate is $325 a day.
We are pet friendly.
We do offer flu and Covid vaccinations in the building.
We currently have 2 rooms available, but we sometimes do have to go on a waitlist.
Aging in Place
Residents do age in place here. No matter what the need is, we meet that need. We currently have 2 rooms available, but we sometimes do have to go on a waitlist.
