Professional Team
We work with a great team of CNA, LPNs, and our Director of Nursing. This team is here to help with medical needs. The CNAs are on the floor 24/7 and they are here to help with ADLs and making sure all residents are cared for. LPNs or Staff Nurses, as we call them in our community, are here to help with medical care, ordering meds, and more. Our Director of Nursing is on call 24/7 and can help on the floor as needed and keeps her staff on top of things.
We also have Housekeepers who help keep the apartments and the building looking clean and neat. Their boss is the Maintenance Director who also keeps the building running the way it should be, inside and out. The kitchen has a crew of cooks and dietary aides that keep the residents fed and happy. The Director of Culinary keeps the food orders and ensures the kitchen is running smoothly.
Then there is the Activity Director, Business Office Manager, Marketing Director, and then your Executive Director. Everyone works together to always keep the residents happy and safe.
Safety
Our staff works together to ensure the safety of the residents with monthly trainings for ALL staff. We also have procedures that are put into place to prevent accidents, as well as measures for when something happens. The residents are also reminded of these procedures as they may be part of their daily routine. We lock the front doors at 8 PM to prevent unauthorized entry. We also have a security system that monitors the common areas of our community.
Resident Aid
The aid that the residents get comes in the form of the staff working with them. We also have residents who help in this. The staff will remind them of mealtime or activity times. They also walk with them if they feel the need to. We encourage them to come out of their apartments as much as possible.
Transportation
We offer transportation to Walmart as well as to appointments. We have a 14-seat bus that we take for these trips so the residents can get their things or see the doctor.
Dining
Our dining is restaurant-style. This means that the residents come in, have a seat, and the dining staff will take their order. Then they serve them. Once the resident is ready, they are welcome to leave without worrying about cleaning up. The dining staff will handle that for them.
Support
We have staff that are always there to help with any issue that may come up. If it is something that needs to be taken care of right away, then we can get someone on the phone. Otherwise, we can direct them to the right person to get the problem fixed.
Apartment Types and Fees
There are two types of apartments: A studio is $5,670 and a 1-bedroom is $6,000. There are also the three tech fees: Cable $36.00, Phone $36.00, and Internet $26.00. You do not need to have any of these if you don't wish to. There is also a $3,500 one-time community fee that is 100% refundable until the lease is signed. We also work with Medicaid – this does not change the type of care. And they do not need to move apartments after transferring to Medicaid.
Communication
Communication is KEY. We keep families informed as much as possible. We also have an App that notifies you when your loved one is joining in activities, or of upcoming events. We want everyone to know what their family is up to. And we love the call-ins just to check in.
Respite Care
We do not offer respite care. This is something that our owners have decided against with the current building we have open.
Pet Policy
We are a pet-friendly community and allow our residents to have pets after they complete a pet assessment. This lets us know that the resident can care for the pet on their own. The pets also must have updated records submitted before move-in. We also allow friendly pets to visit.
Waitlist
We do have a waitlist, but it changes all the time. Some are on there for when they are ready, while others wait too long to get on the list and must go to skilled care.
Covid and Flu Clinics
We host Covid and flu clinics in the building when they become available to us. If the specific vaccine is not available, we can take them to the location that has it.
Aging in Place
We allow residents to age in place if they are safe. Some residents have had to move to a higher level of care due to us not being a skilled care community. However, we try to keep them as long as we can – if safety allows it.
