Community Details
This detailed information was received through an email from the Sales and Marketing Director at Heritage Place Of Boerne via email on 2024-02-06.
Healthcare and Staff Training
We have a full-time nurse and 2 part-time nurses. We have an unofficial/official doctor's PA, Dr. Stahl from Boerne Family Practice, whose PA specializes in geriatrics and is often here. She has many patients that live here plus a family member of her own. The resident assistants complete training as deemed necessary by both the legal requirements and Five Star expectation. Other staff have varying degrees and certifications. My role is not medical.
Emergency Call System
Our residents have anywhere from 5-7 ways to call us in their rooms, including 4-6 call buttons and a lanyard. We follow all state and federal guidelines to ensure safety and health, especially during contagious illnesses, providing all necessary protective equipment for our staff.
Adjustment and Socialization
We have a welcoming committee to help new residents adjust, typically within 24-48 hours. Our community is very welcoming, aiding in quick adjustment and socialization.
Transportation Services
We offer a van for large groups with a lift for walkers and wheelchairs, and a Lincoln Aviator for individual trips. Each resident is entitled to 2 doctor visit transports a month within the local area.
Dining Experience
Dining is family or restaurant style, with a broad choice of meals and an "always menu" for continuous favorites. Dining together is encouraged for socialization and health, with room dining available for medical needs.
Management and Communication
Issues can be addressed to any of the 6 managers on-site. Residents have counsel meetings for discussing and recommending changes. Communication with families is excellent, facilitated by our community's size and open door policy.
Cost of Living
The cost of living varies, with an average plan of 5k a month, all-inclusive. This is a ballpark figure, not a guarantee.
Accommodations and Policies
Currently, we cannot accommodate respite stays due to full occupancy. We are pet-friendly, with a one-time $500 pet fee. Our waitlist is shorter than usual, currently at a 2-4 week wait.
Vaccinations and Age in Place
Vaccines are given on-site as determined by our nurse. Most residents age in place unless their care needs become too high or they become an elopement risk, with an estimated 80% staying until the end of life.
Why Choose Heritage Place?
Heritage Place offers a community home atmosphere filled with friends and love, ideal for those seeking a non-hospital-like environment. Our director has been with us for 23 years, contributing to our great culture and laid-back environment. We recommend touring in person to experience what makes Heritage Place special.
