Heritage Inn of Barnesville offers both long-term care and short-term rehab. We have an in-house therapy gym where Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy departments are available to work with patients as needed. We also offer Speech Therapy to those who require diet alteration or who need cognition therapy. Patients receive 24/7 care from our RNs, LPNs, CMAs, and CNAs. Our center utilizes Medication Aides to pass all medications, other than narcotics, to allow the RNs and LPNs to focus on patient care and documentation. CNAs are our front line workers who are trained and orientated on each hall of our center so they have a good feel of how each patient care plan should be performed.

Rooming Options and Costs

Our center offers private rooms, semi-private rooms, and ward rooms. Wards are 3 persons to a room – but all are either male or female. No co-ed rooming is allowed in most semi-private and ward rooms. The facility does have the option of allowing married couples to room together in the private rooms, and there is one semi-private that allows a married couple to room together due to having a private bathroom. The pricing for a private room is $270/day, roughly $8370 for a 31-day month, and our semi and ward rooms are $260/day, $8060 for a 31-day month. These are the out-of-pocket costs, but if a patient cannot afford this cost, we are a Medicaid certified center and can assist the family in acquiring Nursing Home Medicaid. I’ll attach the list of necessary documents required and the latest Medicaid handbook for you to review. The checklist is good for any center in the state of Georgia. It will help you to be prepared for admission to any center, even if you decide not to choose Heritage Inn for your loved one.

Capacity and Availability

Heritage Inn is licensed for 117 beds, but we are currently only able to house 112 patients due to converting a few rooms into offices. If a patient would prefer a semi-private or private room, there is a waiting list. We are geared towards more long-term care than short-term rehab, so the majority of our patients are here permanently. Right now, I am limited on bed availability. I have one female ward bed and one male ward bed, both are the middle bed spots. I do have one male memory unit bed, which is also a ward bed, but that unit is specifically designed for patients who have a current diagnosis of dementia or Alzheimer’s, and who wander or are an elopement risk. Our memory unit is a smaller hall, and it is locked by door code from the rest of the center to keep patients safe and able to wander as they please without chance leaving the center.
