Pricing Details

This pricing information was received through an email from the Admissions Coordinator at Heritage Inn via email on 2024-06-17.

Pricing Information

Pricing depends on whether the patient will be in a private room or a shared room, and whether or not they qualify for Nursing Home Medicaid.

Private Pay Rates

Our rates are as follows:

  • Shared Room: $260 per day
  • Private Room: $270 per day

Nursing Home Medicaid

If a patient qualifies for Nursing Home Medicaid, each month they will pay their entire income (Social Security Administration benefits, pension, retirement disbursements, etc.) to the center minus $70 for their personal needs.

If a Medicaid patient chooses to reside in a private room, their family must cover the daily difference of $10 for each month, as Medicaid does not cover the cost of a private room at 100%.

Overview on the Types of Professionals on Our Staff and Their Training

We have a variety of associates here at our center ranging from Environmental services to advanced Clinicians. Our daily staff consists of housekeepers, laundry personnel, cooks, dietary aides, therapists and therapy aides, administrative staff, Certified Nursing Assistants, Certified Medication Aides, LPNs, and RNs. Our dietary manager is a Certified Dietary Manager who has completed the required state and federal classes for Nursing Homes. Our CNAs, CMAs, LPNs, and RNs go through the necessary classes or University training to obtain their certifications or degrees and must be current and active with the state of Georgia before they are hired. Each staff member must complete in-service hours monthly related to their department and elder care, as well as keep any certificates and licenses up to date.

Measures to Ensure Safety and Well-Being of Residents

We have locked doors at all entries/exits. Visitors can obtain codes for the main door to exit and enter the building and lobby, however, only staff have the laundry codes and dining exit code, and only maintenance and our Administrator have the codes for the emergency exits. In emergencies, such as a fire, all exits are unlocked via the alarm system to comply with fire marshal regulations. No medical information is given out to anyone other than the approved family members or friends on the patient contact list. Our nurses are vigilant in ensuring that no one has access to protected information. Patients who have restrictions on visitors are respected, and any legal paperwork such as TPO or restraining orders will be enforced, with local law enforcement services notified if necessary. Heritage Inn of Barnesville is one of the few nursing homes in the state that has a locked memory care hall. Patients with Alzheimer’s or dementia remain on this hall for meals and small activities, allowing them to wander and stay busy safely.

Resources and Support Services for Transition into the Community

We work hand-in-hand with families, home health companies, hospice companies, and community social services and DFCS to assist in the transition from nursing home to community home. At the time of admission, we provide a Home and Community Services booklet published by the DHS, which offers families resources to plan ahead for the return of their loved ones to the community.

Transportation Services for Residents

We can assist in setting up transportation based on the patients’ insurance and needs, but we do not have a company-owned transport van or bus.

Dining Experience

Our amazing cooks provide top-notch food for our patients, staff, and guests. Menus are rotated seasonally. Dishes include chicken hibachi and veggies, Fried Chicken Thursdays, Fish Fridays, sloppy joes, turkey dinners, fast food hamburgers/hotdogs, Italian nights, and baked ham, among others. We offer specialized meals for those on diabetic or cardiac diets, as well as chopped or pureed options. Patients are encouraged to come to the dining area for all meals but can choose to eat in their rooms. In the dining area, meals are served similarly to a restaurant experience. In-room trays are delivered based on the room's location. Patients can choose the main meal, an alternate, or soup and sandwich. Meals from families or fast food deliveries are also accommodated as per requests.

Complaint and Issue Resolution Process

We have an extensive grievance process that begins with investigation by the Social Director, then the Director of Nursing, any involved department head, and finally the Administrator. All complaints by families and patients are treated the same way. Resolutions are communicated to all parties and kept on file.

Policy on Communication with Resident's Families

Our staff will call families periodically for updates. Any change in the patient's condition or hospital visit is communicated immediately. Families are encouraged to call at any time, and we facilitate care plan meetings throughout the year. After admission, a 72-hour care plan meeting is scheduled, then another around the 6-month marker, and yearly thereafter. Ad-hoc meetings are scheduled as needed.

Short-Term or Respite Stays

We offer respite stays billed at private pay rates: $260/day for a shared room (2 or 3 beds) and $270/day for a private room. Short-term stays are usually for patients needing rehab, determined by their Medicare and supplemental insurance status. Patients staying short-term without qualifying insurance need to stay at least 30 days and meet financial requirements for Nursing Home Medicaid or be private pay.

Pet Policy

Pets are welcome to visit as long as up-to-date vaccination cards are presented at each visit. However, pets cannot live with the patients.

Vaccinations

We host vaccine clinics throughout the year offering Covid boosters, Flu vaccines, Hepatitis vaccines, and other applicable vaccines. Patients can accept or refuse vaccines at any time.

Aging in Place

We accept long-term patients with the anticipation that they will stay until passing. We adjust care plans as needed for current health status. We provide engaging activities and transition to palliative or Hospice care as required. We ensure patients have all they need to stay with us permanently, considering this their home. Currently, there is no waiting list, and beds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Both male and female beds are available, with most rooms accommodating three patients. One private room is available.
