Community Details

Community Details

This detailed information was received through an email from the Director of Sales at Harborchase Of Gainesville via email on 2023-12-27.

Our Professional Staff

We have many different types of professionals. Are you referring to care staff specifically? With regards to care, we have LPN’s and Care Partners. Many of our Care Partners are also certified as Medication Technicians and assist with medication management for our residents. Some of our care partners are CNAs, and others are trained here on the job to provide daily care for our residents. All are certified in First Aid and CPR. All staff members in all departments undergo annual training in a variety of areas including Alzheimer’s and Dementia training, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Safe Food Handling, Resident’s Rights, etc. Courses may vary slightly based on department and job description. We do have nurse practitioners who visit the community regularly and act as primary care providers for many of our residents, though they are not employed by our community.

Safety and Well-being Measures

There are many measures that we take to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, starting with personalized care plans for each resident based on the individual’s needs. We have a call system for residents to ring for assistance. Our care staff completes routine rounds throughout the day and night to check in on residents well-being and make sure they are safe and that their needs are being met. We have an emergency plan in place for bigger emergencies- for example, storms. We have a plan for transportation and alternate housing for our residents, should evacuation of the community become necessary for any reason. We have a large generator that runs the entire community indefinitely in the case of a power outage. We do routine testing of the fire safety system, and routine drills so that our associates know how to respond in the case of an emergency.

Transitioning New Residents

For new residents transitioning into the community we have an ambassador program where a member of our team is assigned to follow up with that resident and make sure they are settling in and becoming acquainted with the community, routines, programs, and other residents.

Addressing Concerns

If there is a concern, the resident would bring it directly to that department manager. Most things are able to be resolved promptly. If it is not, then it may be written as a grievance and followed up on in writing. Residents may also go to the Executive Director if they don’t feel that they are getting resolve with the individual manager. Residents who don’t feel comfortable going directly to the manager may bring up their concern in the monthly resident council meeting, and those concerns get passed along to the appropriate managers to follow up on.

Communication with Families

Our team is very communicative with resident’s families. The Director of Resident Care and Director of Life Enrichment try to reach out periodically, especially during the first couple of weeks, to share photos and let families know how their loved ones are adjusting. You can also call and check in at any time, as long as the names are included on the HIPPA form, we can share an update.

Short Term Respite Stays

We do offer short term respite stays. There is a 30 day minimum, and the cost ranges from $225-$285/day depending on the apartment available and Level of Care required.

Vaccine Clinics

Vaccine clinics are scheduled here in the community by our Director of Resident Care.

Aging in Place

Residents are absolutely able to age in place, and we do partner with the Hospice companies in the area to come in and provide services if/when the time comes that those services are needed. I currently have availability in both Assisted Living and Memory Care, but may have a waitlist for specific apartment sizes/floor plans.
