Overview of Staff Professionals and Training
All team members employed to care for our residents must be licensed by the state of Indiana. This licensure includes RNs, LPNs, and QMAs that oversee our CNA and HHA licensed care assistants. All team members are required to complete a series of dementia and Alzheimer’s specific CARES training competencies in addition to a minimum of 4 days training side by side with a lead team member.Ensuring Resident Safety and Well-being

GB offers a very structured routine, so there is consistent cueing for all residents throughout the day. We also consistently introduce residents to neighbors we think they would pair well with to help acclimation in social settings.Transportation Services
Transportation is not offered by GB, but community resources are available for sharing should you need.Dining Experience
Dining at GB is family style with larger group settings to support social stimulation as well as to encourage the natural cueing of seeing others in the act of eating. If a resident does not like or want the meal that has been prepared, a menu of alternatives is always available.Handling Resident Complaints and Issues
If a resident or family member has a concern or complaint, our team members always want to hear about it. We have an open-door policy here and strive to remain close with our families. If a concern requires a formal investigation, our team has 7 days to complete it and propose a plan for resolution. In my 3 years with the community, it has never come to that.Communication with Resident's Families
As stated in my previous response, we have an open-door policy. All of our leaders carry a cellphone that is provided openly to families for texts and calls as well as emails. We sponsor frequent family events and activities to offer you additional meaningful interaction with your loved one as well as face time with the team. WhatsApp is utilized as an optional group chat for families to see photos of their loved ones participating in activities and another group strictly for announcements.Short-term and Respite Stays
We do offer respite stays for $250.00 per overnight stay.Pet-Friendly Community
We are a very pet-friendly community for visitors. A resident may have a dog if capable of providing care for it or able to show alternative care arranged.Covid and Flu Vaccinations
Grand Brook does not offer these vaccinations as a community, however, most visiting physicians offer them during their scheduled visits to the community and we can help you make those arrangements.Age in Place
