Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
We do have a waitlist but depending on which area you’re most interested in, the length can be short.
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
I’m not sure if you’re referring to the medical folks or administrative but I’m going to assume medical. We have 3 full time nurses. One of them resides in our Memory Care Neighborhood, another in our RCAC assisted living, and another in our CBRF assisted living. All of our caregivers are trained by Capri (our parent company) and all are required to have CBRF certification.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
Every resident in Assisted Living will have a pendant that should they need something, they can push that and a caregiver will come to them. However, we also have frequent checks on our residents. When administration leaves, we lock our outside doors but residents can come and go with the use of their fob. We also have a manager on duty 24 hours a day all year long every day. There are many other things we do but when you asked about “safe”, I wasn’t sure in what capacity you meant that. We can talk more in person if you choose to tour our campus.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
I’d love this question clarified. We do orient our residents to our campus in ways that are tailored to the resident. We want to know what activities they like, we have our caregivers help on the medical side about how to connect with them. With meals included as part of the care plan, those also become very social and we like to introduce new residents to the others. We do more but I would love your clarifying this so I can be more specific to what you’re asking.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
If you’re meaning to appointments and things, no. Because we’re in Waukesha County, there is a senior ride share for appointments that our residents take. Also, many of our residents are on Bluestone which is a replacement for the current primary care physician. Bluestone will go to their apartment for that kind of care so that particular appointment is not needed. We do have a bus that we use for activities such as shopping, fun, and so on.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
What would you like to know? We offer 3 meals a day and the food gets some of the highest marks for satisfaction. I’m not sure what you’d like to know but I’ll be happy to go into detail on that.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
Every month, we have meetings with our various neighborhoods and that’s an opportunity for our Executive Director to listen and if possible, solve any of those issues. Sometimes, a resident will come in to have a personal one on one with our Executive Director if they’re uncomfortable with a large group setting. The bottom line is depending on the issue, there is someone to see. If it’s about a maintenance issue (heat, broken something), then that’s when maintenance will get involved.
What is the cost of living in your community?
The cost is variable to the level of care for the resident. This is something that I can’t give a firm price on without knowing more about the situation with the potential resident. Our beginning pricing is on our site with the link I sent you.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
After the first 30 days of living in our community, we have a Cares Conference where we tell anyone who is interested in learning about them, what we’re seeing, if there’s improvement, etc. In times where there’s a decline, we will also be sharing that with the families. Now, for that to happen, the resident needs to agree that the people listening are permitted to knowing. We also do care conferences once a year or as requested.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
We do offer respite for up to 28 days. The cost currently is $300.00 per day.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Oh yes. We have many dogs living here. We have a few cats but dogs are the primary pet here. We only ask that the pet be able to be cared for if they live in our apartments. If we have a visiting friend, we ask that the pet be cared for and leashed in public spaces.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Yes
Are residents able to age in place?
I’m not sure what this means but we do offer the continuum of care and it’s rare that we aren’t able to see a resident through end of life.
