Professional Staff and Personalized Care
Golden View employs many different professionals including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, licensed nursing assistants, resident service providers, med techs, social workers and registered dieticians. Our staff provide day-to-day care for our residents taking their individual needs into account, as well as anticipating needs of residents who are not always able to express their needs. Staff help with medications, bathing, dressing, bathroom care, etc.
Community Integration and Activities
We try to help new residents get acclimated to the community by suggesting they eat in the dining room and by seating them with residents who share similar interests. We also have a wonderful activities department who come around each morning with an activities schedule. When it’s time for the activity, they will go around to each room and encourage folks to attend and will bring them to the activity.
Dining Experience
In terms of dining, each floor has their own dining room. We also have a dining room on the first floor in our main lounge where residents may choose to eat lunch. That dining room is also where special luncheons and parties occur. Residents get a weekly menu to make selections from, and we can do special diets and textures, if needed.
Medical Services and Transportation
We do not offer transportation, but we are happy to arrange wheelchair van transport, if needed. Most residents only need to go out to specialist appointments, as we have many providers who come into the building to see residents. We have a nurse practitioner who acts as primary care for our assisted living residents and a physician who acts as primary care for our skilled nursing facility residents. We also have a dentist, dermatologist, podiatrist, wound care nurse, and geriatric psychiatrist who come into the facility to see residents.
Feedback and Communication
If a resident or family member has a complaint or an issue they want addressed, we have our ASAP program posted throughout the building. The postings list contact numbers for our leadership team members as well as our 24/7 compliance hotline where a message can be left. Residents and family members are also always welcome to stop by our offices or ask for us to come to their room to talk, as well.
Care Plan Meetings and Family Updates
We have care plan meetings that occur quarterly or more frequently if requested. These meetings go over the resident’s care needs, how they’re doing, any goals, questions, concerns, etc they or their family may have. Families may also call each unit’s clinical services number to check in with staff on how their loved ones are doing. Any emergencies are reported to the resident’s power of attorney or emergency contact, as well as any significant changes in their condition or care needs. We also have a family email/mail list where we send out general facility updates.
Respite Stays and Accommodations
We offer respite stays in our assisted living and skilled nursing facility based on availability. Respite stays are a minimum of two weeks and range between $350 per day for assisted living and between $380 and $550 per day in our skilled nursing facility units depending on location and room type.
Pet Policy and Visits
Residents may have one cat or small dog in our assisted living unit The Inn. Residents must be able to care for the animal without staff help. Family and friends can bring pets in for visits in accordance with our pet policy.
Vaccinations
Residents are able to get COVID, flu and RSV vaccinations here.
Living Options and Priority Access
We don’t offer independent living, but we do have assisted living, a higher care secure unit assisted living, a traditional long-term care nursing facility, and post-hospital short-term rehab. Residents get priority access to higher care levels if needed. Assisted living is private pay, while we are able to accept Medicaid on our long-term care nursing facility. Some of our units have a waiting list and some don’t, so it would depend on the individual’s care needs.
