Overview of Our Staff and Training
At Glen Terra, we have a diverse team of professionals across several departments including Administration, Admissions, Wellness Department, Dietary/Kitchen, Maintenance Department, and Activities Department. Our staff undergoes rigorous training upon hire, in compliance with Title 22 State Regulations and Glen Terra Assisted Living policy. This training encompasses providing excellent customer service, timely response to resident requests, quality care, and the crucial importance of identifying and reporting potential resident abuse. We are proud to have a record free of resident abuse at our facility.
Safety and Well-being Measures
To ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, we conduct ongoing staff training, regular fire drills, and evacuation protocols training. Our care staff performs checks on all willing residents every 2-3 hours, day and night, throughout the week.
Support Services for Residents
Our team, including the Executive Director and Wellness Director, is always available to answer any operational, financial, or care-related questions from potential residents and their families. A personalized "Care Plan" is created for each new resident, detailing specific care needs such as medication management, assistance with daily activities, and mobility support.
Transportation Services
We offer each resident up to three free trips per month within a 12-mile radius of Glen Terra. Additionally, our Activities Department regularly schedules outings to various locations.
Dining Experience
Our dining room serves three meals a day, with menus designed by a licensed dietician to ensure healthy and sensible meals. An alternate menu and room service are available, with certain conditions applied for room service charges.
Addressing Complaints and Issues
Complaints or issues raised by residents are promptly addressed by the Executive Director and the relevant department, ensuring a cooperative solution and keeping residents and families informed of any actions taken.
Communication with Residents' Families
We maintain an open-door policy for residents and their families to discuss any concerns with our leadership team. In case of emergencies or significant concerns, we promptly communicate with families to discuss care plans.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We offer short-term or respite stays at a cost of $250/day, with no minimum stay required, including full access to our services.
Pet-Friendly Community
Glen Terra is a pet-friendly community, with a monthly pet fee and requirements for pets to ensure resident safety.
Vaccination Services
Residents have the option to receive Covid and flu vaccinations on-site, usually administered by an external pharmacy.
Aging in Place
Our community supports aging in place, offering independent living, assisted living, and special waivers for residents with dementia or those facing end-of-life situations. We typically have a waitlist, but occasionally have apartment options available.
