Could you provide an overview on the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?

Flannery is staffed with Drs, NPs, RNs, LPNs, Therapists (occupational, speech, and physical), CNAs, and we of course have housekeeping, kitchen staff, and maintenance. We ensure that everyone with licensures are up to date as well as current with on-line and in person continuing education; which is a requirement for all employees.

Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?

Every resident has care plans in place that are added to and or changed to fit the individual needs. Every hall generally has 2 aides to assist residents with everyday tasks as well as provide extra care as needed, including checks every 2 hours. Every resident also has a call-light in their room that is always left within reach. When pushed, a light will come on in the hallway as well as an alert to the front desk to alert that the resident needs help.

Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?

Flannery Oaks is a long term care facility, meaning most of our residents are coming to live and likely will not be returning to the outside community. However, our social services department will provide assistance in the event that someone is returning to the outside community with home health set up, equipment for home use, and or communicating with family on the plans for a loved one returning home. If the resident was receiving therapy while here, they will assist to ensure the resident and family are educated on proper techniques for safety in their activities of daily living.

Do you offer transportation services for residents?

We do have transportation. We communicate with doctor offices and arrange appointments. If a resident is needing to go somewhere else, depending on the nature of the outing, we may be able to provide that as well.

Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?

Flannery has 2 dining rooms. We provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with coffee breaks and snacks during the day and at night. There is always an alternate meal option if they do not wish to eat what is on the menu. In the event someone needs to be fed, we have people assigned to assist the residents with feeding. Each resident has specific diet orders that are monitored and changed when necessary.

What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?

Our administration team rounds on our residents daily and addresses the issues of concern. If there is a bigger issue, it is brought to the administrator. Any concerns of the family are also brought to the administrator and the director of nursing so that the grievances are handled properly and in a timely manner.

What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?

Families are notified of ANY changes, good or bad. Dr appts, medication changes, any falls or incidents, and are encouraged to participate in their loved ones care.

Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?

We do offer respite stays and the cost is no different than if they were to live here. It is $255 daily.

Are you all a pet-friendly community?

We do not allow pets to stay in the facility, though we may allow them to visit as long as they are well behaved, do not disrupt other residents, and do not make a mess in the facility.

Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?

We do give vaccines as needed and requested by residents and their families.

Are residents able to age in place?

Aging in place refers to staying in your own home as you age, so if your loved one lived here, then yes- they would be able to age in place.

Please let me know if there are any other questions you may have regarding Flannery Oaks. We do currently have availability, though we do not currently have any private rooms available.
