Staff and Response

Our assisted living has 2 registered nurses on staff. We also have several CNA's (certified nursing assistants) on staff, who are overseen by our nurses. CNA's will be responding to your loved one when they have needs throughout the day/night. Each resident wears a pendant that they can push when they need help from staff. They can use this 24/7.

Emergency/Assistance Response System/Pendants

Fairfield Village has installed an emergency/assistance response system. Each resident, upon moving into their apartment, will receive one pendant transmitter that can be worn around the neck, carried in a purse or pocket, or clipped to a belt. Each apartment will also have a wall-mounted transmitter located in the bathroom. When either the wall-mounted transmitter or the pendant is pressed, a signal will be sent to the front desk and to the pagers worn by the nursing staff, alerting them of the call. While every effort is made to answer the pendant alarm quickly, there may be times when it seems longer. Our nursing staff will respond as quickly as they are able. There is not a way to predict when/who will signal for assistance at any given time, or what they need assistance with and how long it may take. We thank you for your patience.

Fire Emergencies

The entire building and your apartment are equipped with smoke detectors and a heat-sensitive automatic sprinkler system. In the event of a fire in your apartment, leave your apartment immediately. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PUT OUT THE FIRE. Close the door to your apartment behind you and go to the nearest fire alarm pull station. Pull the alarm. IF IT IS SAFE, go to the front desk to report the location of the fire; otherwise, proceed to the nearest exit or designated area.

In the event that a fire alarm sounds, please stay in your apartment unless there is smoke or fire present. Please make sure you close your windows. If you smell smoke from the hallway, feel your door for heat. If your door is hot, stay in your room. The apartment doors are fire-rated up to two hours. If your door is not hot, check the hallway for safety; if it’s clear and you are able to exit safely without assistance, do so immediately. Once you have left your apartment or the building, DO NOT go back to your apartment or into the building. Staff members will let you know when it is safe to return. When you leave the building in an emergency, please make your way to the front of the building, where a staff member will be waiting to assist you to a safe area. This will allow us to account for all residents.

If you are in your apartment when the fire alarm is sounded and you cannot smell smoke, please remain there until you are asked to evacuate. When the situation has been assessed and we’ve cleared the alarm, staff will let you know that all is clear. Periodically, fire drills will be conducted, and fire safety classes will be held. Please plan to attend these classes regularly.

Fire Drills

Quarterly, we will conduct an unannounced fire drill to practice the Fire Emergency Procedures listed above.

Move In Coordinator

We have a Move In Coordinator who visits new residents each morning to help them adjust to their new home environment. She will help introduce new friends and neighbors, make sure they know where to go for meals, activities, church, and entertainment. She is a great resource for the first week or so to help your loved one feel more comfortable and confident.

Transportation

Fairfield Village provides transportation services as needed, from 12th Street in Ogden to Farmington Station in Farmington. We provide a “Curb Side Service” for Doctor’s appointments, where family members meet us at the location to provide assistance getting you into the building. The driver cannot accompany the resident to the appointment. Transportation must be scheduled with the front desk, no later than 4:00 pm the prior day. Please visit the front desk for information regarding transportation or to schedule a ride.

Dining Services

Included in your monthly fee are three meals a day and a snack. Meals are served in the dining room on the first floor. Dining times are as follows:

  • Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Guests are always welcome! When you have guests, reservations are appreciated but not required with less than 4 guests. Reservations for 4 or more guests are required with 72 hours’ notice. If you have 4 or more guests, the price per meal is now $10.00 per person. The Private Dining room can comfortably accommodate 12 individuals. Dining options include the entrée only. Selections from the alternative menu are not available. No reservations are required for residents eating at regularly scheduled mealtimes. Guest meal charges are $10. Guest meals may be paid in cash at the front desk or charged to your monthly bill. The receptionist will provide you with a meal ticket once it’s been paid. Please give the ticket to the server when they take the meal order.

Concerns and Communication

Residents and family can discuss concerns with our assisted living director, our resident care coordinator, or our nurses. Communication with families is very welcome and encouraged. This will be with the assisted living director and nurses. With any condition change, you will be contacted.

Short Term/Respite Stays

Short term/respite stays are an option upon availability when we have open rooms.

Pet Policy

We are pet friendly. A pet deposit is required upon move-in, $1000 per pet (limit 2), and a $50 monthly fee per pet. The resident needs to be able to care for the pet on their own. Staff does not help with pets.

Health Department Visits

Every other Wednesday, the Health Department visits our community if residents sign up at the reception desk for Covid, Pneumonia, or Flu vaccinations.

Aging in Place

Aging in place is our model. We have memory care as well, right in the same wing as our assisted living. We do have a waitlist at the moment. We have 3 people on the list for a studio and 2 couples on our list for larger 1-bedroom apartments. For our more standard 1-bedroom, we do not have a waitlist right now.
