Independent Living Communities

Very briefly, the vast majority of independent living is available in an apartment style community. These communities provide a dining room where they serve meals each day. Additionally, they provide services, and the residents at these communities pay a monthly fee. Within that fee everything is included – meals, housekeeping, activities, etc... Rates vary by community, and this “model” has worked well for many years. As our company looked at this independent living option, it became apparent that the apartment style model was catering to an older and more need driven (higher acuity) resident. While we certainly understand and appreciate the opportunity these communities provide, we believed there was a need for a different type of senior living community. Specifically, we believed that the more independent and active seniors who may want discretion over how they spend their time and money needed another option.

Emerald Cottages

Emerald Cottages is a residential-style vs apartment style community. The cottage homes are all single-story, and they all include an attached garage. The cottages are part of a campus community including an assisted living community. Everyone looks out for each other, and because we are part of a senior campus community there are higher levels of care available should something unexpected happen.

Emerald Cottages has a clubhouse that is the heartbeat of the community. We have activities and events, birthday parties, resident lunches, educational activities, etc… There is no charge for the majority of our activities, and you can participate as much or as little as you’d like. With 32 cottages we create a close family atmosphere.

Location and Amenities

The community is located on the Teravista Golf Course immediately adjacent to the Rolling Rivers Assisted Living Community. It’s an amazing location and we have a flexible pricing structure so you can determine how to spend your time and money. The Emerald Lifestyle provides all utilities (except your personal phone), including: electric, water, sewer, trash, cable, internet, landscaping, maintenance and repairs.
