Overview of Staff and Training

We have a very experienced and professional staff here with great staff tenure. I have been with the company for 22 years, our administrator has been here 17 years, and our lifestyles director 18 years. This is not unusual. We have employees who have been here 30+ years. Everyone receives online training during their first week here focused on the senior living industry, safety, and how Pinecrest operates—rules and regulations. Our staff undergoes fingerprinting, drug tests, and background checks.

Measures for Resident Safety and Well-being

In addition to training, we have 24-hour security, emergency pull cords, daily check-in service, managers on duty every day, and nurses here 7 days a week. We also have a visiting doctor. We are not in an evacuation zone either, making it a very safe place to be during hurricane season. We are a concrete structure with two huge generators and are licensed by the state, so we are prepared for inspections at all times.

Support Services for Transition

We have a move-in coordinator to help new residents get acclimated, who also writes a welcome biography for them. Resident ambassadors welcome new residents, and there is a new resident orientation meeting to meet all the managers and learn how their departments and services work. We also have a department called Here for You that offers a move-in package to help residents get settled in, such as unpacking and organizing. The Lifestyles Director conducts a personal interview to gather information about the new resident's interests, allowing us to introduce them to others with similar backgrounds and interests.

Transportation Services

Residents get a round trip a day anywhere in Pinellas County during the weekdays with a car and driver. We also have two buses that go on outings to places such as Rays games, the casino, the theater, orchestra, malls, restaurants, and shopping malls.

Dining Experience

In independent living, residents get breakfast and their choice of lunch or dinner every day. The menu changes daily, and there is a monthly "Always Available" menu with options like grilled fish, chicken, and burgers. We offer a nice brunch on Sundays and also have a bistro with an a la carte menu and a full bar, where items can be paid for with cash or put on a tab. Assisted living includes three meals a day, with our culinary director having a country club background.

Handling Resident Complaints and Issues

Our executive director has an open-door policy and also holds a town hall meeting for residents every Monday to share suggestions, concerns, and compliments.

Communication with Resident's Families

Family members can visit anytime and have daily access to the staff. If a loved one is in assisted living, the family would have the nurse's phone number. We also conduct care connection meetings quarterly or anytime if the resident has a change of condition.

Short-term or Respite Stays

We offer respite stays in assisted living for $150/day for a 30-day minimum, plus a care level package depending on the visitor's needs.

Pet Policy

We are a pet-friendly community welcoming small dogs, cats, and birds. There is a one-time pet fee of $1000. Visitors can bring their dogs, provided they are on a leash and do not jump on the residents.

Vaccination Availability

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we provided vaccinations, but now residents can go to the drug store or doctor to get them.

Aging in Place

Residents can age in place with our various living options, including independent living, independent PLUS, assisted living, and memory care. Independent PLUS includes prescheduled services through our Here for You department, which can be temporary or long-term, by the hour. We are a large community, so we always have something available.

Active Lifestyle and Friendly Feel

We are known for our active lifestyle and friendly feel. People who visit always comment how happy everyone is. Pinecrest is a fun place to be! We have over 300 activities and entertainment a month. Our heated pool is open all year round.

Excellent Staff Tenure

We have excellent staff tenure which means we really get to know our residents.

Worry-free Living

Don’t worry about cooking, cleaning, maintenance, or even driving. We will take care of it! Enjoy activities and entertainment every day with new friends and neighbors. Come in and try our delicious food.

Comfortable Apartments

We have very nice 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. They all have screened in patios, full kitchens, safe step in showers, walk in closets and you also get a storage unit on the same floor as your apartment. We also have covered reserved parking.

Safety First

We are not in an evacuation zone and have two huge generators. Our community structure is concrete and was built in the 80’s to withstand very heavy winds and storms. There couldn’t be a safer place in case of an emergency!
