Resident Aides (RA's) at Elan
Here at Elan, the staff that directly provide care to our residents are referred to as "Resident Aides or RA's." They are trained directly under our 1 LVN Sylvia. They are trained on how to properly administer care and support to our residents. They first train with a program online called Relias. Then hands-on with Mrs. Sylvia and tenured RA's. They learn proper transfer assistance and the various ways to do this, all the ways they should get to know the residents, safety and emergency protocols, and much more.Assisted Living at Elan
In Assisted Living, our residents are still able to come and go as they please much as they would in their own home. However, we provide assistance with their daily activities per their care plan. For this, our safety features would be apartment-like at first. We have a fire safety system that is monitored. We have a concierge upfront during the day and then lock the front doors after business hours with instructions on how to safely gain access to the building. We have care staff on-site 24/7 to answer any resident emergencies. Maintenance is on call 24/7 as well as our LVN. We have many emergency procedures that all staff are trained on.Helping with Transition
To help aid in transition, we can make recommendations for various types of therapy. On-site, we get to know them and get them familiar with a new life routine that will help promote longevity of life. We introduce them to members of the community so that they are not alone and have friendly familiar faces to help navigate their new home. Activities are key to their socialization and both promote a healthy transition.Transportation
We do offer bus transportation to and from appointments only.Dining at Elan
For dining, they get to enjoy restaurant-style dining in our open dining hall. We give a menu that shows what is being served at each meal, but they are also offered an alternative menu should they not care for something being served. They are served in dining but may have it delivered to the room for a small fee of $5. Breakfast is at 8 am, Lunch at 12 pm, and Dinner at 5 pm.Open Door Policy
We have an open-door policy for complaints and suggestions. They are welcome to bring it to any department head (preferably the appropriate head first then work the chain if not addressed). We also have Resident Council meetings that give an open meeting time for them to voice their concerns as well. We then follow our management team's policies to correct what has been brought to our attention in a timely manner. While we strive to make everyone happy, we have to recognize that not all changes demanded are doable by company policy or standards.Keeping Families Updated
Keeping families updated on our end happens when we have noticed major changes in care, behavior, and functionality. Otherwise, families are welcome to call and ask for updates at any time. Activities also keep families updated on their involvement via our Sagely App.Respite Care
Respite is a 30-day minimum and would be charged at a regular monthly rate.Pet Policy
We are pet friendly and just require a pet deposit of $650 nonrefundable. Residents must be able to care for it on their own.Vaccinations
We do not offer any vaccinations on-site but if they have a visiting physician that offers this, it would be allowed.Aging in Place
