Staff and Training
We have in-house physicians, Bluestone Dr. John Murphy and his team. Ecumen team members; all departments are: Environmental services, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and an EVS director. Dining includes chefs, cooks, servers, hostess, dishwasher, and Dining director. Life Enrichment team includes life enrichment assistants (3 full time and 3 part time), Gus (house dog), LE director. Clinical Team includes Resident assistants, floor nurses, assistant clinical director, clinical quality coordinator, and clinical director. Front desk team operates 8a-9p 7 days a week. Leadership team includes Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director, Senior Living Consultant, Senior Living Associate, along with other department directors. Roughly 60% of our team members in all departments have been with us for 10+ years, with many having 20+ years in our community.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We offer daily "I'm okay" checks and can provide safety checks in the level of care.
Transition Support Services
We offer complimentary escorts for the first 5 days and whatever services the family would want in the level of care. Life enrichment also does a 1:1 visit and assessment with the resident along with current residents that are "ambassadors" for new residents.
Transportation Services
As you will see on our activity calendar, we go out in our van quite often, everything in bold. We can assist in setting up medical transportation but cannot use our LVC van for medical purposes.
Dining Experience
Dining is restaurant-style dining, with a hostess to seat you and servers to take your order and serve you. We have entrees for every meal and always an available menu for you to choose off of as well (attached for your review).
Resident Complaints and Issues
We have team members in the community 24-7, with grievance forms available at the front desk. We have floor nurses, an assistant executive director, or executive director available. We go over all of this at lease signing on who to contact for what, and it could go to the assistant clinical director or clinical director. Anyone on the team can get a grievance form, and there are also state offices to contact as well. We offer all of this information in our move-in paperwork.
Communication with Residents' Families
We ask there be 1 family contact to streamline communication. You can always stop at the desk and check in, call the floor nurse, call the clinical team, or life enrichment team for updates as well. Otherwise, we do set up family care conferences as needed and do new assessments with any change in condition.
Keeping Families Updated
Same as above. Also, if you choose to enroll with the on-site physicians group, they have a family portal where you can look at every visit and respond to them with any concerns.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We do not currently offer respite care.
Pet-Friendly Community
Yes, very pet-friendly. We have a house dog, Gus, and about 13 cats and 1 resident dog currently. There is a one-time non-refundable pet deposit, and residents need to be able to care for their pet and carry renters' insurance. We have a gentleman who comes into the community and cares for residents' animals that we could get you in contact with (non-Ecumen but has been coming longer than me, so 7-8 years).
Covid and Flu Vaccinations
Yes, our pharmacy does offer this whenever a new one comes out. We call families and see if they are interested in receiving, and then we hold the flu or vaccine clinic on-site.
Aging in Place
Absolutely, this is a big move, and we want you to stay in your home all the way to the end of life. Ecumen has hospice, but we also have other hospice companies that come in - all family chosen.
