Types of Professionals on Staff and Training

Our clinical staff includes PCAs, CNAs, Medication Technicians, and LPNs. All were required to complete various training to gain their certifications. We offer frequent CPR/First Aid training, monthly in-services, and various trainings, as well as memory care specific training on Alzheimer's and Dementia for all staff.

Safety and Well-being Measures

To ensure residents' safety, we conduct two-hour rounds to check in on them. We have a recently installed surveillance center in the common areas. Our entrances lock from 5pm until 8:30am and are accessed only by a code to keep residents safe.

Support for Residents' Transition

We have a Move In Coordinator position focused on providing 1:1 attention to help new residents transition smoothly. All department heads meet the resident within the first few days of admission to ensure proper orientation.

Transportation Services

We offer transportation on our mini-bus for local appointments on Tuesdays and outings to various locations on Thursdays.

Dining Experience

Our dining program has a two-hour service time for each meal: 7:30-9:30 for breakfast, 11:30-1:30 for lunch, and 4:30-6:30 for dinner. The service is restaurant-style with a menu at the table for residents to choose from. Meals can be requested in-room at no extra charge.

Process for Complaints and Issues

Residents are encouraged to speak to our administrator, Chris, for any complaints or concerns. We also hold a resident council meeting on the last Wednesday of each month for residents to express any comments, questions, or concerns.

Communication with Residents' Families

Families are typically contacted by the clinical department for any significant changes. We encourage families to call with questions and use a mass email communication system to update families about community happenings.

Short-Term or Respite Stays

Our respite program requires a minimum stay of 14 days, starting at $197 per day, with rates varying based on care needs. Currently, we are unable to offer this due to lack of availability.

Pet-Friendly Policy

Residents can have small pets if they can care for them independently. Staff do not assist with pet care. Visiting pets are welcome with up-to-date shot records. Our administrator has a certified companion dog named Oliver.

Covid and Flu Vaccinations

Family Care Pharmacy provides Covid and flu vaccinations for residents, typically in the fall each year.

Aging in Place Policy

Residents are encouraged to age in place. However, assisted living cannot accommodate certain medical needs such as feeding tubes, unstageable wounds, IV therapy, and others requiring skilled nursing. Hospice care can be provided. Room availability and waitlist depend on room style and need for assisted living or memory care.
