Our Staff
We have a multifaceted set of professionals on staff ranging from Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to Resident Assistants. All staff must meet Assisted Living Criteria of Dementia training and undergo a 2-day in-person orientation on various facility-specific policies and care-related practices before going “on-floor” orientation where they shadow a team member and learn the residents on an interpersonal level.
Safety Mechanisms
We have various mechanisms to ensure our residents are safe. We have 24-hour staffing, and the facility is locked with egress doors. Communication is key, as Resident Assistants communicate with walkie-talkies with Nurses and each resident has a pendant that alerts staff when they need assistance. If a pendant is not available, there are pull cords in the room that also alert staff members when assistance is needed.
Resident Integration
We partner up every new resident moving into the community with a “buddy” and have our resident ambassador help with their transition in the community to make them feel at home.
Transportation
Transportation to medical appointments in Dover is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Dining Experience
We have a fine dining experience where each resident can select their preferences on the menu on a daily basis, three times a day. These options include a “Heart Healthy” option, a soup of the day, salads, and an always available menu to name a few. Dessert is also served after lunch and dinner.
Grievance Procedure
We have a Grievance procedure where each issue is brought directly to the Executive Director's attention. The facility will discuss the issue and come up with a solution that will be delivered directly to the resident/family member who wrote the grievance.
Care Plan Meetings
Care plan meetings take place through our Nursing department, and any change with a resident will coincide with a call from our nursing team. We also have a newsletter and family meeting, along with satisfaction surveys for feedback on how to improve.
Pet-Friendly
Yes, we are pet friendly.
Availability and Waitlist
We have a waitlist on certain types of rooms, but also availability where we can adhere to most inquiries.
Vaccinations
Yes, both vaccinations are available seasonally.
Our Goal
Our goal is ALWAYS for the resident to age in place, as long as regulations and circumstances allow it.
