Assisted Living Costs

There are three components to the cost for assisted living:

• Food: $773 per month
• Level of Care:
  • Level 1: $2,196 per month
  • Level 2: $2,957 per month
  • Level 3: $4,100 per month
• Rental for Apartment: 30% of the resident's gross adjusted income

Assistance with rent can be offered.

Independent Living Costs

The cost is 40% of the resident's gross income, regardless of the apartment size.

Types of Living Offered

Culpepper Garden offers both Independent Living and Assisted Living options for residents.

Pet Policy

Residents are allowed to have one pet, with a weight restriction of no more than 20 pounds. There are no specific breed restrictions mentioned.

Transportation

While Culpepper Garden does not offer private transportation services, it is conveniently located on the city bus line for residents' transportation needs.

Moving Assistance

Residents are responsible for moving their belongings into the community, as Culpepper Garden does not provide moving assistance.

Staff and Services

For Independent Living, the staff includes a property manager, accounting, a full maintenance team, and resident services coordinators. Optional services available for purchase include meals from the dining room and housekeeping.

For Assisted Living, the staff includes RMAs, CNAs, nurses, and dining services. Meals are included, and a resident services person assists with making appointments and other needs. Additionally, a physician, physician assistant, and specialists for podiatry, dermatology, and dental services visit the facility.

Staff Training

Staff members are required to complete training and in-services throughout the year in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Safety and Security

Safety features include pull cords in every room. The building is locked after 9 PM, accessible only with a card key or by being buzzed in through the front desk, which is staffed 24/7. Assisted living residents may opt for pendants, although they are not required.

Check-ins

In the Assisted Living section, nurses check on residents typically every two hours. There are no routine check-ins for Independent Living as it is designed for those who are more self-sufficient.

Dining Services

Three meals a day are offered, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with snacks also available in Assisted Living. The dining service operates with a set menu for the day, and residents can choose items from that menu. Meals can be taken in the dining hall or to go.

Communication with Families

Communication with residents' families is conducted through email or phone calls, depending on the nature of the communication, such as billing or other inquiries.

Handling Complaints

Residents can voice complaints directly to the administrator, either in person or in writing, thanks to an open door policy.

Waitlist

Culpepper Garden has a waitlist for potential residents, with the length varying depending on the type of accommodation and whether the applicant requires limited income program assistance.

Accessibility

The facility offers units with different accessibility features, such as walk-in showers or tub shower combos, and the wait times for these units vary.
