LONG TERM

Covered and Non-Covered Charges

Our daily rate for our private room and bathroom suite is $408. This covers room and board charges, 24-hour nursing care, social services, all meals and snacks, bedding, linen, laundry services, activities, Wi-Fi and cable TV.

Items not covered include medications, durable medical equipment (ex: wheelchairs, personal shower chairs), incontinence supplies, specialized equipment rentals (ex: wound vacs, nebulizers), radiology, transportation, therapy, lab tests, salon services and staff escorts to physician appointments. Some of the items not covered in the daily room rate are often covered by insurance or Medicare Part B (therapy) or Medicare Part D (medications.)

Admission Pre-Payment

For those not covered by insurance, upon admission, we require pre-payment of the daily rate for the current month and the next month. We bill one month in advance and the extra initial pre-payment allows us to not have to send you a bill a few days after admission for the next month. We offer payment by check (made payable to Cottages of Lake St Louis), cash, credit card and ACH.

Items to bring when signing admission paperwork:

  • Insurance cards
  • Social security card

Our Services and Commitments

We have RN, LPN, CNA, and support staff. We conduct a skills day twice a year for continuing education, in addition to monthly online courses, to ensure our team is always at the forefront of care practices.

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our elders is our number one priority. We maintain an excellent staff to elder ratio, with 2 care partners per 10 elders, ensuring safety and personalized attention.

A dedicated social worker is available to assist elders and their families, ensuring a smooth transition into our care.

Transportation services can be arranged through 360 transport for ease and convenience.

All meals are freshly prepared in each cottage's open concept kitchen and served family style at the dining room table, promoting a warm and communal dining experience.

Feedback and Communication

For any complaints or concerns, please reach out to Valerie, our social worker, or bring it up during the elderโ€™s care plan meeting. These concerns will then be directed to the appropriate leadership member for resolution.

Communication with families, especially regarding rehab updates, is conducted weekly after insurance updates, ensuring all parties are informed. For long-term residents, updates are provided during the care plan meetings, which occur every other month. However, families can contact Valerie or the cottage nurse at any time for updates.

Pricing and Accommodations

The daily rate for our services is $408. This applies to both short-term respite stays and long-term care, with hospice companies benefiting from negotiated rates.

While pets cannot reside permanently, they are welcome to visit, provided we have a copy of their vaccination records.

Although we are currently at full capacity, openings arise frequently, especially given our focus on short-term rehab.

Health and Safety

Elders have the option to receive both COVID and flu vaccinations in-house, ensuring their health and safety.

Our facility supports aging in place, allowing residents to stay in a familiar environment as their needs evolve.
