Overview of Professionals and Training

Our staff includes a variety of professionals such as Campus Nurses, Social Services Coordinators, Fitness & Recreation Coordinators, and an entire Resident Services team, all devoted to the well-being of our residents. They undergo comprehensive training at our facility to ensure they are well-prepared to meet the diverse needs of our community.

Measures for Safety and Well-being

We have 24-hour security across both campuses and Gatehouse Lane. Independent Living residents have support from the Campus Nurse, Social Services Coordinator, Fitness & Recreation Coordinator, and Resident Services staff. Residents are issued pendants for help in medical emergencies, with pull cords in every bathroom and building. We have a comprehensive emergency response plan, including regular fire drills.

Resources and Support Services

New residents in Independent Living receive a Resident Handbook with comprehensive information. Various staff members from departments like Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Chaplain services make early contact. The Campus Social Services Coordinator and Campus Nurse also reach out to welcome new residents. Additionally, we host a quarterly New Resident Social event with our president and offer ongoing tech support.

Transportation Services

Included in the monthly fee, we offer on-demand transportation across Cornwall Manor, a shuttle bus for trips to Lebanon, and transportation to medical appointments within a 15-mile radius. Additional transportation services are available for longer distances and other destinations with advance notice and at established rates.

Dining Experience

Residents have multiple dining options with the Manor Café, Freeman Dining Room, and Skylight Dining Room offering a range of meals. Produce from our on-site organic farm is used in menu items. We have no meal plan; meals can be paid for with cash, credit, or charged to the monthly bill. Resident input is encouraged through a Food Committee within the Residents Association.

Handling Complaints or Issues

Residents can address complaints or issues through their Resident Association contact, senior management team, or the president. President Harry McConnell holds regular small group meetings and quarterly meetings for all Independent Living residents.

Communication with Families

Families may request to receive our monthly newsletter. We keep families updated about their loved ones' well-being through various communication channels.

Short-term or Respite Stays

Our Health Center offers short-term skilled nursing care to our current residents, prioritizing them when needed. The current daily rate for skilled nursing/rehab is $496/day. We do not offer short-term stays in Independent Living or Personal Care.

Pet-friendly Community

Independent Living residents can have cats in any accommodation. Dogs under 30 lbs. are allowed in patio apartments (Laurel Place and The Carriage House). Dogs of any size are allowed in houses. There is no additional charge for pets.

Covid and Flu Vaccinations

Yes, residents can receive Covid and flu vaccinations in the community.

Aging in Place

Residents in Independent Living can bring in-home healthcare. Our social services coordinator can assist with these arrangements. Currently, there is a waiting list for all houses. We have some one and two-bedroom apartments available, with a $20,000 incentive off the entrance fees for specific units.
