Overview of Professionals and Training

We have 24-hour nursing. We have an LPN for 12-hour shifts. Our Director of Nursing is also here during the day. We have CNAs on Memory Care. CNAs are certified so they go through training to be certified before they come here. We also have resident service assistants. They are mostly on regular assisted living. We train on site since they don’t have to be certified before they come to Assisted Living.

Safety and Well-being Measures

We must follow safety guidelines per the state. We have guidelines we have to follow for fire, all weather conditions, bomb, active shooter etc. We practice these situations regularly. Our front door locks at 7pm and unlocks at 7am daily. If someone comes to visit after 7pm they must ring the doorbell. Memory care is always a locked unit. There is a code to get in and out. The residents cannot get out on their own in Memory Care.

Resources and Support Services for Transition

We don’t have anything on paper as far as resources go. Every resident is different, and every situation is different. Before the move-in, we discuss with the family what would be best and how we want to approach the move-in and transition. Once they are here, all staff will proceed with care with the transition process. It takes time; as I said, every resident and situation is different.

Transportation Services

We do have a van. However, if the resident must go to an appointment and one of our staff members must go and stay with them the whole appointment, there is a $35 an hour fee. We try to encourage the family to go with the resident to an appointment because a staff member can’t really make decisions if needed. If for some reason the family member can go but can’t drive the resident, we can take them there, drop them off, and come back and get them for no fee.

Dining Experience

We provide 3 meals a day. Our dining is like a restaurant style. The food comes out on plates; food does not come out on trays. The staff asks them what they want to drink and serves them. It’s like a restaurant.

Handling Resident Complaints or Issues

If a resident has a complaint or concern, they usually let a staff member know, and of course, they take it to their manager. We have a concern and comment form we fill out and then address the concern. As it is addressed, we finish filling out the form. We document all concerns, so we know if they have been addressed or not. The residents also have a monthly meeting called Resident Council Meeting, with our activities. Only residents attend, and they address any concerns or compliments there. The activity manager then shares the concerns with each department and they must address them and fill out the form after it’s been addressed. We always say we can’t fix it if we don’t know about it.

Communication with Resident Families

The nurses always contact the family if there are any changes or something needs to be addressed, no matter what it is. We also have a meeting with the family called a Care Plan Meeting every 3 months. The family and staff discuss how things are progressing.

Short-Term or Respite Stays

We do offer respite. For Assisted Living, it’s $175 a day. For Memory Care, it’s $225 a day.

Pet-Friendly Community

We are a pet-friendly community. There is a $500 nonrefundable deposit. The pet must have its vaccinations up to date. The resident must be able to care for the pet.

Covid and Flu Vaccinations

We do offer covid, pneumonia, and flu vaccinations.

Aging in Place

We want the resident to be able to age in place but sometimes they are not able to. We require a certain level of care at Assisted Living and if the resident declines and they require more care than we can provide, unfortunately, they may have to transition to Long Term Care.

Available Living Options

We currently do not have a waitlist. We have, of course, Assisted Living and Memory Care in a secured unit as well. We have studio apartments in small or large sizes.
