Community Details
This detailed information was received through an email from the Community Relations Director at Chandlers Square Retirement Community via email on 2024-05-09.
Overview on Staff and Training
Chandler’s Square Department Heads consist of an Executive Director who is also our Administrator, Business Office Manager, Culinary Services Director, Maintenance Director, Life & Leisure Director, Community Relations Director, and most importantly, our Director of Health Wellness, Tammy Scott, BSN, R.N. Our caregiving team includes CNAs and Med Techs.
Safety Measures
We are required to do CPR training and have monthly fire drills. The building is equipped with a sprinkler system. We also have emergency response pendants, and every bathroom has an emergency response pull cord which signals our caregiving team, who are on-site 24/7.
Support Services for Transition
Our whole team is here to help a new resident transition by meeting for orientations and new resident socials. Residents also have their own welcome committee. We can refer you to movers and people who specialize in senior relocation services.
Transportation Services
Yes, we have a driver Monday – Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm to take our residents anywhere they’d like to go in Anacortes. They just need to sign up at the front desk.
Dining Experience
We offer a full-service restaurant-style dining room. Most of our residents are in Independent Living, which includes one meal a day. They can add the other two meals for $100/month for breakfast and $145 for lunch. If they don’t want to commit to a daily meal, they can purchase meal tickets for $7 each and use them whenever they wish. Dinner in the evening is our largest meal, and we have two dinner seatings: the first seating at 5 pm and the second at 6:30 pm.
Complaint Resolution Process
Our Executive Director has an open-door policy and is always willing to address issues directly.
Communication With Families
Our Executive Director sends out an email distribution when noteworthy information arises. For personal communication, we reach out to the family if there is a concern. If a resident is on Assisted Living, our nurse can communicate with a DPOA and whoever our resident gives permission to share information with.
Short-Term or Respite Stays
When we have availability, we offer short-term trials and respite care. For Independent Living, it is $200 per day and includes all 3 meals. If one needs Assisted Living Services, the cost depends on the level of care needed.
Pet Policy
Yes, we are a pet-friendly community. We require a $600 nonrefundable deposit and have a pet policy which includes proof of vaccinations and a note from the vet stating the dog or cat is free of communicable diseases to humans.
Waitlist Status
We currently have a waiting list for two-bedroom apartments. Studio and one-bedroom apartments are available now.
Vaccinations
Yes, in the past we have been able to offer vaccinations in the community. I have worked here for almost 13 years and we have always offered annual flu shot clinics here.
Aging in Place
We do our best to keep our residents here until the end of life. However, we are not a Memory Care or Skilled Nursing Facility, so unfortunately, it is sometimes necessary to refer to a higher level of care.
