Overview of Staff and Training
Our team comprises LPNs, RNs, Caregivers, and CNAs. Every staff member undergoes comprehensive dementia training both online and in-person before they start working with us and continues to receive annual training thereafter to ensure the highest level of care and expertise.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We ensure the safety and well-being of our residents with 24/7 nursing staff on-site. All doors, except for the main entrance, are locked from 8 AM to 5 PM daily, during which time a Concierge is present. Residents and their families are provided with a code for access. Our Memory Care area is secured and locked 24/7 for added safety.
Resources and Support for New Residents
To aid in the transition into our community, our leadership staff conducts an orientation for new residents within their first week. A ‘welcome story’ is created and shared with all residents and staff to foster a sense of belonging from day one. Additionally, a new resident welcome committee, consisting of existing residents, is in place to assist with the transition.
Addressing Complaints and Issues
Our leadership staff maintains an ‘open door policy’ to encourage anyone with questions or concerns to come forward at any time. We prioritize open communication and swift resolution of any issues.
Cost of Living
For details on the cost of living in our community, please refer to the attached information.
Communication with Residents' Families
We maintain an open door policy for families and use an online database called LifeLoop for regular updates. Care plan meetings are scheduled as needed to discuss any concerns regarding residents' well-being.
Short-term or Respite Stays
Currently, we do not offer short-term or respite stays due to high occupancy. This option may become available again if our occupancy rate drops below 90%. We are currently at 98% occupancy.
Pet-Friendly Community
Yes, we are a pet-friendly community. Residents are welcome to bring their pets for an additional $100 per month.
Vaccinations
Residents can receive Covid and flu vaccinations on-site through scheduled pharmacy visits or use our transportation service to visit a pharmacy of their choice.
Aging in Place
Our community supports aging in place, with hospice services brought in as needed to prevent the need for a move to skilled nursing facilities. However, we operate under the State of Illinois Assisted Living regulations and may need to transition residents who no longer meet these regulations and are not actively passing.
Availability
We currently have limited openings in our Assisted Living and Memory Care units. Please contact us for more details on availability and floor plans.

What Sets Us Apart
As you plan for the future, we appreciate having the opportunity to share information about what sets our community apart from others you may be considering. At Carriage Crossing, we have nursing services that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether it be a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse or certified nursing assistant, there is always a member of our qualified team to assist with care needs. Also, each staff member also participates in a structured dementia-specific orientation prior to working with any resident in the community, regardless of the role they are filling. We want everyone to have the ability to best communicate and care for those who cannot care for themselves! We also offer made-from-scratch, restaurant-style dining; a fulfilling life enrichment program with opportunities for those with many interests; housekeeping & laundry services; and complimentary transportation for medical and personal needs in the Bloomington-Normal area. EmpowerMe Wellness is also on-site to assist our residents with their overall health and wellness – providing a Nurse Practitioner on-site and therapy services on-site (Physical, Occupational, and/or Speech Therapy).
