Our Memory Care Team

In our memory care, we have Care Partners, CNAs, RNs, and a House Manager. Care Partners and CNAs manage the day-to-day needs of our residents, including ADLs, while RNs handle the medical aspects, such as medication management and illness monitoring. The House Manager ensures smooth operation, including staffing, care management, housekeeping, and stocking. Our staff undergoes extensive dementia care training, annual orientations, and continuing education. We also have doctors, specialists, and onsite PT, OT, and speech therapy.

Safety and Well-being Measures

All staff undergo extensive background checks, fingerprinting, and drug screening. We also conduct background checks on incoming residents as mandated by the state of Illinois. Our management team closely monitors employee activity. We adhere to all safety guidelines from the Illinois Department of Public Health, including fall and injury reporting. Our community is equipped with fall prevention tools, wander guards, and life safety call buttons in each room.

Transition Support Services

We provide personalized support to help new residents adjust, understanding the initial unease and confusion they may experience. Our small community size allows for close relationships and extra support during the first challenging weeks, including involving families in the transition process.

Transportation Services

Transportation is available for medical appointments and outside therapies. Personal trips require family management.

Dining Experience

Our dining area is designed like a family home, with residents eating together around a family-style table. Meals are prepared in an open kitchen, and we're collaborating with the National Chef of Scotland, Gary MacLean, to enhance our menu.

Addressing Complaints and Issues

Our House Manager, Administrator, and Director of Nursing are available to address any complaints or medical concerns, ensuring families have their contact information upon move-in.

Communication with Families

We communicate with families in emergencies or significant concerns and encourage active family involvement. Health information is shared with the resident's POA, especially regarding medical changes.

Short-term or Respite Stays

Respite stays are available, with costs varying based on duration.

Pet-Friendly Policy

While we welcome pets for visits, they cannot reside in the community for practical reasons.

Vaccination Clinics

We host annual clinics for Covid and flu vaccinations, requiring POA approval for all vaccines.

Aging in Place

Our community supports aging in place, with skilled nursing teams onsite to manage evolving care needs, ensuring residents can stay in their home as long as possible.
