Overview of Professional Staff and Training

We provide various levels of healthcare professionals to deliver quality care. The clinical department is led by our Resident Services Director, an LPN, with RN oversight at the Regional level. Other clinical managers include our Memory Care Director who is a certified Dementia Practitioner and the Resident Services Coordinator. Our direct care staff include Medication Technicians, Certified Nurses Assistants, and Certified Personal Care Aides.

Care training includes 20 hours of personal care training, 20 hours of dementia training, a LHPS skills checkoff to ensure care competency, and a Med Tech LHPS skills checkoff to ensure medication administration competency. This initial training is combined with ongoing in-services for re-education and continuing education to meet annual training requirements. Additionally, the community hosts two groups of physician providers who provide Primary Care Services to our residents. They are in the community 2x week.

Resident Safety and Well-Being

The community ensures resident safety through secured exterior doors accessible by combination code, daily door checks, and staff on-site 24/7.

Transition Support Services

We have a few contacts such as support groups that offer different types of assistance during the transition into the community. The support group would depend on the specific need of the resident or family.

Transportation Services

The community offers transportation to and from medical appointments within a 10 mile radius of the community, we also have resident outings (weather permitting).

Dining Experience

Encore Dining is table service as in a fine restaurant, depending on menu for the day, there are up to 3 choices, and an alternate menu available, we also cater to dietary orders, diabetic orders and personal preferences.

Addressing Resident Complaints

Our Administrator is always available, there is an open door for residents.

Communication with Resident's Families

Activities, we have an app, "Icon", that is linked directly with our Lifestyle Director. Weekly communication emails are sent by the ED to inform the family members of updates, changes, and community events. The clinical communication as set at the request of the family. Family may request progress notes, physician visit notes, etc.

Short-term or Respite Stays

Depending on availability, all costs are pro-rated, an assessment must be completed to determine level of care.

Waitlist Information

Constantly changing but at this moment, there is 1 opening for memory care, and 3 openings for AL.

Vaccination Services

Residents are able to receive both flu and COVID vaccinations here in the community.

Aging in Place

For the most part, all of our residents age in place, we have Bayada Home Health in our community, which offers PT/ST/OT to assist our residents to keep them thriving, we also have palliative & hospice care, however, unless they develop a skilled condition qualifier or we are unable to meet their needs that becomes outside of our clinical scope or capabilities, we are a 1 person assist, and resident must have the ability to bear weight, not have any skilled health conditions such as feeding tube, or catheter.

Assistive Services and In-House Therapy

We are a 1-person assist; also, to encourage more mobility, we also have available PT/OT/ST (in house) Bayada Home Health for Therapy! No need to leave the premises!

Accessible and Family-Friendly Facilities

One of our best features; we are a 1 Floor community with no steps, (including bathrooms) all roll ins- we have many rooms which can be utilized by family members when visiting your loved one in our Assisted Living Wing.

We have a private dining room, sunroom, parlor, a country kitchen, and a movie theatre room, we have plenty of country outdoor living spaces with seating & covered patios.

Pet-Friendly Community

Yes! we are Pet Friendly!!! We Love Pets!!

24/7 Care Staff and Safety Programs

Residents in Assisted Living also get a pendant to ring our care staff 24/7. How's that for service!

Cadence Senior Living of North Raleigh is a vibrant community that offers assisted living and memory care services. The community features a secured dementia unit, providing specialized care for residents with memory impairments.

Accommodations and Availability

The community has a variety of living options, including dual occupancy and private residences. At the moment, there is one vacancy in the memory care unit. Cadence Senior Living also offers short-term stays, subject to availability.

Pet Policy

Residents are allowed to bring pets into the community, with an additional fee required as a pet security deposit.

Transportation Services

Medical Support

While there are no nurse practitioners on staff, the community has partnerships with two groups that provide medical services on-site three days per week. Additionally, vaccination clinics for COVID vaccines and flu shots are organized by the community's nurse.

Safety Measures

Residents' safety is a priority, with a call bell response system in place. Residents wear pendants around their necks, and there are additional pull stations in the restrooms of each apartment.

Grievance Procedure

If residents have complaints, there is a structured grievance procedure in place. Residents can communicate their concerns through the relevant department or directly to the administrator. If necessary, the grievance can be escalated to the executive vice president of operations for the region, and the community follows the guidelines set by the Department of Social Services (DSS) and the ombudsman.

Communication with Families

The facility maintains open lines of communication with residents' families through various channels. These include weekly updates on community happenings, an ICON system for activity participation updates, a newsletter, and direct emails from the care department.

The community is overseen by an administrator who ensures the smooth operation of the facility and the well-being of its residents.
