Overview of Professionals on Staff and Their Training

The building is staffed 24/7 by Certified Home Health Aides who complete a state certification program. We also have Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) during the day 7 days a week and Registered Nurses (RNs) for our ALP program Monday through Friday. The team is also made up of case managers, therapeutic recreation specialists, and other administrative support staff.

Measures to Ensure Resident Safety and Well-Being

Each resident has scheduled safety checks around the clock. We also have a keyless entry system on the exterior doors to help ensure the safety of the building.

Resources and Support Services for Resident Transition

Our experienced case managers complete a resident and family orientation with the resident and family on the day of admission. The recreation team, along with the rest of the staff, assists the resident with orienting and transitioning into activities, meals, etc., throughout their time here.

Transportation Services for Residents

Buckley does not offer transportation services. Residents can obtain transportation to medical appointments through Medicaid once active, or we can assist with setting up a private pay ride for them.

Dining Experience

We serve three meals a day in our dining room, which is set up restaurant-style. Each week, copies of the menu are placed in the lobby for residents to take if they'd like, along with the menu and daily recreation calendar at each table. Along with the main entrée for each meal, we also offer numerous "always available" items such as grilled cheese, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.

Process for Addressing Resident Complaints or Issues

Each resident has a case manager who is responsible for coordinating their care, services, etc. If there are issues or complaints, the case manager would gather the information from the resident and then take the appropriate action.

Policy on Communication with Resident's Families

The case management team communicates primarily via phone but also utilizes email communication. Any changes or updates that are acute in nature would always be communicated via phone call to a family member.

Short-Term or Respite Stays

We do not offer respite stays at Buckley Landing.

Pet-Friendly Policy

Residents are not able to have pets in the building. However, pets are welcome to visit as long as the administrator has a copy of vaccination records, the pet is friendly, and is kept on a leash while in the building.

Waitlist Status

Yes, we are currently 5-6 weeks out on the waiting list.

COVID-19 and Flu Vaccinations

Yes, we offer the flu vaccine yearly and are able to obtain COVID vaccines periodically. We do encourage residents to visit a local pharmacy to have both of these vaccines done quicker as we do not keep a supply of each on hand.

Aging in Place

The short answer is yes, but only to a certain extent. As with any program, there are guidelines we must follow and most importantly, we want to ensure each one of our residents is safe. The care team within the building works closely with each resident and family to ensure they have the services they need to be safe and successful. If a resident reaches a point where we can no longer care for them safely, we then assist the family/resident with finding an alternate level of care that is appropriate for the resident.
