Overview of Professionals and Training

Our staff includes CNA’s, LPN’s, RN’s as direct care floor staff, along with a full therapies team comprising physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and restorative aides. Restorative aides, who are CNA’s working under the therapist team, provide ongoing restorative therapy as needed. All staff members come with prior training in their fields and undergo additional staff meetings and trainings at our facility to ensure their licensures are maintained.

Safety and Well-being Measures

Our facility is not locked, and we are not suited for individuals with progressive dementia/Alzheimer’s who are a risk to themselves or prone to wandering. We prioritize the safety and well-being of our residents through professional staff and ongoing training and licensure maintenance.

Transition Support Services

We assist residents discharging from our facility by providing necessary equipment within insurance coverage limits, completing referrals to home health agencies, agency on aging, or other needed services as deemed by the discharge nurse or provider.

Transportation Services

Transportation is provided for long-term care residents to medical providers. We prioritize family involvement for companionship during appointments, followed by the provision of a paid companion or our staff as needed.

Dining Experience

Meals are served in the PODS/resident areas with a choice of 2 entrees and an alternative menu. Residents can eat in common areas or their rooms, with staff assistance provided for those who require feeding assistance.

Complaint and Issue Resolution

We have a grievance procedure in place and conduct 90-day care conferences where family and supports are encouraged to attend to address any complaints or issues.

Communication with Residents' Families

The identified POA is kept informed about any changes in condition, appointments, or care conferences to ensure families are updated about their loved ones' well-being.

Short-term or Respite Stays

While our focus is on long-term care and transitional care, we consider respite stays as needed if we have openings.

Pet-Friendly Community

Our community is pet-friendly, allowing families to bring pets for visits, though overnight stays for pets are not permitted.

Vaccination Availability

Residents are able to receive Covid and flu vaccinations within the community.

Aging in Place

Residents can age in place with access to palliative, comfort, and hospice care in-house, though there is a waitlist for long-term care at Brendan House.
