Training
All the employees at Silver Springs need to complete a certain amount of training hours each year depending on the position they hold. The nursing aides need to complete a state mandated clinical knowledge course and have a high school diploma prior to being employed at Silver Springs. Our nurses are required to have an active clean license with the state of Pennsylvania. We hold mandatory monthly trainings for all our employees on topics that pertain to our daily operations.
Resident Support
Our team gets to know and understand the needs of our residents by putting a support plan in place. The residents in personal care are issued a pendant that alerts the care team if they need assistance as well as pull cords in all the residents’ bathrooms. We offer PT and OT in the community by a designated team from Bayada.
Transitioning Residents
As a resident is transitioning into Silver Springs, we do check ins with the resident and family to ensure that the resident is feeling welcomed, engaged, and safe. A little about me, is that before I was the director of community relations, I was the welcome coordinator for all the new residents. This is a position that I hold near and dear to my heart as I understand how hard a new beginning can be at any age, especially a senior. It takes 21 days to create a habit, during this transition period our team will support the change by doing more frequent checks, encouraging participation in activities, partnering them with a compatible group to eat meals with, and taking time to learn about their likes and dislikes.
Dining Options
We offer all day dining from 7am to 7pm. We have a full-service kitchen and restaurant style dining with a waitstaff. There are 2 special meals offered at lunch and dinner as well as all day dining options.
Resident Concerns
The residents are encouraged to alert the front desk of minor concerns, and the floor nurse with a clinical issue. If they feel that the concern needs to be addressed with the management team, someone is always available. We hold a resident council meeting once a month. At this meeting, there is a representative from each department to listen to the concerns of the residents as a group.
Cost
The cost is individualized depending on the apartment selected. We believe in providing great care at affordable prices.
Family Partnership
We believe in partnering with families to provide the best care possible. Communication is key, we welcome families to request check ins with the entire team to follow their loved one’s progress as well as our team will reach out with any concerns we may have. The nurse on the floor is always available to address any clinical concerns that a family may have.
Respite or Trial Stays
Respite or trial stays are done in 30-day increments up to 60 days, anything over that a resident will be considered a permanent resident and would be required to give a 30-day notice.
Pet Policy
Silver Springs is pet-friendly.
Health Clinics
A COVID vaccination clinic and flu vaccine clinic will take place in the fall at the community.
