Community Details

Community Details

This detailed information was received through an email from the Executive Director at Atria Rancho Peñasquitos via email on 2024-09-23.

Overview of Community Services

I apologize for not sending this out earlier. I thought I had. Here are short answers to your questions. We are not Skilled Nursing, a medical community, or one-on-one care. Our community provides assistance to those who are seniors with day-to-day activities and their personal needs. Every resident has a pendant that they can call for emergencies and we are staffed 24/7 with caregivers. You have good questions, but to get a true understanding of the community will require a visit so you can see firsthand how this works. Nick will give you a call shortly to schedule a visit.

Staff and Training

Could you provide an overview on the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility? We have care staff here 24/7. They are assigned training each month on how to care for our residents. We also have Medication Technicians that dispense medication to residents at the appropriate time. On-site we have a Maintenance Director, Chef, two Directors to oversee care staff, Administration Director, and Activity Director.

Safety Measures

Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents? Here at our community, we have layers of security to ensure our residents have peace of mind and that their activities of daily living are addressed. Our residents in assisted living and independent living are given pendants that they can use to call for their caregivers. Because of the nature of memory care, we provide routine checks to ensure a resident with dementia is taken care of. All resident rooms have pull cords in their bathrooms for added safety. In addition, at night, our front door is secured to allow only family members and staff to enter the community.

Transition Support

Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community? Moving into a new home is always a little scary for new residents. Our Activity Director meets with them a day or two after they move in to make sure the resident is acclimating with other residents. Our whole team greets each new resident and explains what they do and how they will be of service to them.

Transportation Services

Do you offer transportation services for residents? We offer scheduled transportation to doctor appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Our transportation is complementary for 12 miles. We also have a shopping day and restaurant day once a week.

Dining Experience

Could you tell me a little about your dining experience? Our dining rooms provide excellent quality meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our Chef meets with our residents once a month for feedback and incorporates their favorite meals. Our dining rooms are restaurant-style, where residents are free to choose where they sit, select a variety of delicious meals from our menu, and be serviced by our excellent wait staff.

Complaint Resolution

What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed? Residents have access to each department supervisor, who will meet with them. Residents can also go to the front desk and submit any work orders or concerns. Lastly, all residents have access to the Executive Director Monday – Friday.

Living Costs

What is the cost of living in your community? Our studios for assisted living start at $3,895 and a memory care one-bedroom starts at $4,895. For memory care, a private studio is $5,395 and a shared studio is $4,395. Depending on the care, there is an additional fee for the level of care.

Family Communication

What is your policy on communication with the resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being? Residents are reassessed 30 days after they move in and then every 6 months. If any emergencies occur, the staff notifies the resident's POA. Family can come in and visit 24/7. The POA and resident can meet with our Resident Service Director and go over any care concerns.

Short-Term Stays

Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost? We offer a 30-day respite stay, which costs $309.50 a day. This includes the rent for the room, meals, activities, housekeeping, utilities, and care. Any longer and it is considered a move-in.

Pet-Friendly Policy

Are you all a pet-friendly community? We allow assisted and independent living residents to have a dog or cat that is 15lbs or under.

Waitlist

Do you guys currently have a waitlist? At this time we do not have a waitlist.

Vaccinations

Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community? Residents are able to receive a COVID and flu vaccination when Yorba Linda Pharmacy is having their vaccination clinic, typically during flu season.

Aging in Place

Are residents able to age in place? Yes, here we offer independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Should a resident in assisted living develop dementia, they are able to move into our memory care neighborhood for more specialized care. Residents can also access Hospice services too.
