Ashby Pond Overview

Ashby Pond is an independent living community that requires residents to live independently before transitioning to assisted living, skilled nursing, or memory care if needed. The community is situated on a sprawling 132-acre campus and offers a variety of amenities and services to its residents.

Living Options

Residents initially move into an apartment independently and pay an entrance deposit for the apartment, followed by a monthly service fee. If additional care is required, residents move to the Maple Grove building within the community, where the service package is adjusted based on individual needs.

Respite Care and Short-Term Stay

Ashby Pond offers respite care and rehabilitation services, both inpatient and outpatient, exclusively for internal residents.

Pet Policy

Pets are allowed in the independent living apartments at no extra fee, provided that the residents are fully capable of taking care of them. Pets are not permitted in the assisted living facilities.

Moving Assistance

The community provides a planning and moving consultant to assist residents with resources for downsizing and scheduling movers, although the moving services are not covered by the community.

Transportation Services

Ashby Pond offers a shuttle service for on-campus transportation and scheduled shopping trips. For destinations not covered by the bus trips, a fee-based transportation service similar to Uber is available, with drivers who are employees of Ashby Ponds.

Dining Experience

The community boasts eight restaurants with weekly changing menus and various themes, including a deli, grill, formal sit-down restaurants, and an Asian fusion restaurant. Residents in independent living receive a meal plan that includes approximately 30 meals per month.

Staff and Safety

With approximately 2,000 residents, Ashby Pond maintains a staff of about 1,000, ensuring a two-to-one ratio of residents to staff. For safety, the community has a 24-hour security team, pull cords in every room, and a door feature that alerts security if a resident has not left their apartment as expected.

Addressing Complaints

Residents can address complaints to social workers assigned to each building, 24-hour front desk personnel, or general services for maintenance issues.

Communication with Families

While the sales team does not handle ongoing resident communication, social workers and staff maintain contact information for families to communicate in case of emergencies or updates regarding the residents' well-being.

Additional Amenities

Ashby Pond features internal sky bridges connecting buildings, allowing residents to move throughout the community without the need to go outside. The community also provides various channels for communication, including a dedicated TV channel, newsletters, and a responsive staff.
