Introduction
We don't currently have a waitlist, but we easily could within the next few months as we are a small community with 60 private units. Our staff is the most experienced with regards to dementia care, as memory care is our specialty.
Our Staff and Services
We have 3 nurses who manage our certified care staff, with everyone undergoing an extensive orientation. Some caregivers have been with our community for over 20 years, with a few in the 10-15 year tenure as well. Additionally, we have a medical director on call 24/7, 2 doctor groups available to our residents, therapy (PT/OT/speech), podiatrist, dentist, hairdresser, and are in the process of getting an eye doctor and psychiatrist onsite as well.
Security and Facilities
The entire community here at Arden Courts Warminster is a secured dementia facility, with the main doors locked by number codes. There are 12 exits to our courtyard, which wraps around the perimeter of the community, featuring a whole quarter mile of walking paths and various outdoor seating spots. These doors are locked in the winter but automatically open when the weather is nice and above 60 degrees. We also have cameras around the exterior doors and a high ratio of staff to residents, accommodating up to 15-minute checks on residents that are high fall risks.
Transition Support
As far as support in the transition to our community, we have staff ambassadors assigned to each new resident to ensure they're getting acclimated and settled. Our staff's attention to new residents is impeccable, and getting them involved in activities really helps with this process.
Transportation and Dining
Currently, we do not have transportation services available because almost everything they would need outside of a specialist appointment is available to them onsite. Dining is very important to us in terms of the variety of foods available and the consistency of meals - we serve 3 meals a day and provide snacks throughout the day to our residents as well as encourage them to drink often.
Communication and Pricing
Complaints can be either written in an email to our executive director or spoken about in person. We have a very flexible, open-door policy when it comes to communication. Our pricing is all-inclusive, meaning we don't have levels of care like some other communities may have - it's just one monthly rate regardless of the care needs. Currently, that monthly rate is $8550 per month, and we take a $4000 community fee that serves as a deposit/entrance fee.
Respite Program and Pet Policy
Our respite program is a 30-day minimum stay, and the cost is $325/day. We are pet-friendly and encourage residents' families to bring their pets to visit!
Vaccine Clinics and Aging in Place
We do conduct vaccine clinics when appropriate, usually occurring in the fall on a few separate dates. Our community is designed to allow residents to age in place. Once they are in our care, they never have to leave as we have plenty of resources to carry them through end of life - dementia is a marathon, not a sprint.
