Overview of Staff Professionals and Training

We have Nurses who are either RN’s or LPN’s. Nursing is on staff 24/7 as well as all of our caregivers. Nurses are the only individuals who dispense medications. All staff are trained to care specifically for individuals with dementia and training is ongoing throughout their tenure at the community. I have caregivers who are CNA’s, Home Health Aides and Caregivers. I have caregivers who have been with us for 20 years as well as other supportive staff who have been with our community for 20 years as well. Staff is trained in caring for one’s ADL’s as well as redirection.

Safety and Well-Being Measures

We have railings throughout the entire community. We conduct hourly checks on all residents 24/7 and we do 15 minute checks on the outside grounds from dawn to dusk which are the times the residents have access to our secured ¼ mile of gardens and paths. There are also cameras throughout the community.

Resources and Support Services for Transition

We do offer Private Duty if the family wants that in place during the transition period. Our objective is get the resident introduced into the community and involved in programming so that they obtain the stimulation and socialization which is necessary for one to thrive while at our community. We do try to pair residents up with another resident who may be higher functioning.

Transportation Services

Transportation can be provided by a third party vendor.

Dining Experience

We have 4 dining rooms, each of which hold only 14 residents. The smaller dining experience provides a much calmer and more intimate experience for the resident so that they do not become overstimulated. All meals are table side service and we have families complete a Family Packet which gives us likes and dislikes regarding food as well as dietary restrictions. Soothing music is played during all meals and residents are brought to the dining room by the caregivers and other supporting staff. Plates are colored to help with visual impairments as well as promote appetite. We do anywhere from cuing to feeding assist at our community.

Handling Resident Complaints and Issues

Administrative staff is always available to address concerns of residents, but because we are a Memory Care Community most concerns will be addressed to family members who have the personal cell phones of all administrative staff.

Communication with Resident Families

Phone calls and emails are conducted. There is always an open line of communication with our families.

Short-Term or Respite Stays

Short term respite starts at 2 weeks and is $300.00 a day. We are an all-inclusive community so in our pricing we include all levels of care under our LNS licensure, all furniture, bedding, linens and toiletries.

Pet-Friendly Policy

We are pet friendly. We currently have 3 cats and a dog at our community. The resident needs to be able to care for the pet.

Vaccination Availability

Yes, residents are able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community.

Aging in Place

They are able to age in place should their needs still fall under our licensure and we can meet their needs in a safely and sufficient manner. I have been at the community for over three years and we have only had 4 residents discharged to a higher level of care. We offer hospice services.
