Community Details
This detailed information was received through an email from Amber Lights on 2024-07-24.
Overview of Staff and Training
We have 98 employees in all departments, almost half of which are on our medical team. All of our employees are required to undergo monthly trainings on a variety of topics.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We have staff in the building 24 hours a day. All of our assisted living residents have their own, individualized care plan. Those care plans are what we call “scheduled care” meaning there is a rhythm and cadence to the day when they will interact with their own, specific caregiver.
Resources and Support Services
Absolutely, we have a number of resources we bring into the community. Primary Care Physicians, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Grief Counseling, Pharmacy, Podiatry to name a few. All of which are covered by insurance in most cases.
Transportation Services
Yes, we have 2 busses and a town car for transportation. We maintain a weekly schedule and are able to get residents to medical appointments across the city on different days.
Dining Experience
The restaurant is open 12 hours per day, 7a-7p. It is a scratch kitchen, meaning approximately 90% of the food is made from scratch. We have 2 different menus we run simultaneously every day. Our permanent menu, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and our Chef's specials which change, every meal, every day.
Complaint Resolution Process
Multiple different ways of handling complaints. The best way to describe it is every department head, including the Executive Director, has an open door policy. No appointments are necessary. Simply come in to discuss your concerns.
Cost of Living
Cost varies depending on the size of the apartment, we have 10 different floor plans, and the level of care that is needed. Costs will begin at $4780 per month with all of our core services included. (All utilities, cable, internet, housekeeping, transportation, meals, etc.)
Communication with Families
Residents will provide us with a list of family or friends we are able to communicate with. In the case of an event, we will reach out to any and all of them to keep them informed and up to date. There are also monthly newsletters and calendars for all. In addition, we have “Zest Connect”; this is a way for families to stay in touch and up to date with the community via their phone or computer.
Short-term or Respite Stays
Normally yes, however, we are 100% full and have been for some time, so we do not have any space available for respite stays. The waitlist depends on the size and type of apartment desired. In some cases, the wait can only be a couple of weeks. In addition, all of our apartments are month to month. There are no long-term leases involved.
Pet-friendly Policy
Absolutely, mostly cats and dogs. Though there is one cockatiel here and soon to be a turtle that is on the waitlist.
Waitlist
We do as mentioned before.
Covid and Flu Vaccinations
We have not had a vaccination clinic in recent months. Our residents typically handle any vaccines through their primary care. However, we are able to help facilitate if needed.
Aging in Place
Yes, of course, unlike every community I am aware of, all of our apartments are licensed for every level of care. Independent all the way through hospice if need be. Meaning when folks move in they will not have to move. We offer a very high level of care for folks that need it. We are licensed Direct Care, meaning we are trained and equipped to care for folks with dementia. There are very few ailments which are outside of our scope.
