Our Team
We have Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse’s Aides, Home Health Aides, and a Social Worker on our team. Additionally, our Executive Director is a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. All of our team members are required to have 15 hours of specialized training in dementia, infectious disease, disaster management, elder abuse, foodborne illnesses, etc.
A disclosure of services has been attached for your review.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We have disaster plans in place for each type of emergency (tornadoes, floods, disease outbreaks, etc.), security cameras, door alarms, and 24-hour awake staff. Additionally, there is a sign-in and sign-out system for all residents and visitors in the building. Finally, there are safety checks of residents based on their care plan.
Transition Support Services
Our whole team is involved in the transition process. New residents receive more one-on-one care for the first two weeks as they adjust. There is also a Social Worker on the team to help with the adjustment. Sometimes it is suggested to hire an outside companion for extra support.
Transportation Services
Our transportation service is operational Monday to Thursday. It offers shopping trips, excursions, MD appointments, and scenic rides.
Dining Experience
Three meals a day are served in our full-service restaurant-style dining room. Breakfast is a hot meal daily, lunch is the main meal, and dinner is lighter fare. There is an all-day dining menu available every day (which I have attached), and there is a menu that rotates some highlighted entrees as well (this is also attached).
Complaint and Issue Resolution
Generally, issues should be directed to the Director responsible for the specific department. For example, if someone has a housekeeping complaint, it should be directed to the Building Services Director. Mundane tasks like a light bulb out can be called into the Concierge, which will be logged. There are also suggestion boxes throughout the community. Additionally, the Executive Director has an open-door policy and will help facilitate any way possible. You can call or email her at any time.
Communication with Resident's Families
There is regular communication from our Activities Director and Executive Director on the happenings in the building, whether it's special events, dentist visits, or project updates. Updates on specific residents to their loved ones are made when behavior changes are being observed. If there is an emergency and a resident is sent out of the building, the family is called immediately.
Short-term or Respite Stays
The cost for short-term or respite stays is $350 per day, all-inclusive, with a 30-day minimum/maximum.
Pet-Friendly Policy
Well-behaved pets (cats and dogs) are welcomed with some policies in place.
Waitlist Information
The waitlist is only in our memory care. There are a few apartments available in traditional independent and assisted living.
Vaccinations Availability
We have been consistently offering vaccine clinics in the fall for both COVID and Flu.
Aging in Place
Aging in place is our goal. Families bring in Hospice for end-of-life or additional services when needed. We do not have skilled nursing on-site, but we are well connected with SNFs in the area, with one only a stone’s throw away.
Allerton House Hingham
Allerton House Hingham is a family operated community. We are a hidden jewel in Hingham nestled in the woods close to the Shipyard.
The Allerton House Hingham is a community offering individuals a maintenance free life with some extra amenities like personal care, weekly housekeeping, three meals a day, a variety of activities and much more.
